4k = 8,294,400 pixels
5k = (5120x2880) 14,745,600
-----------------------------------
diff: about 75% more pixels
For a rough guestimate, you might probably get half the FPS of 4k benches. I'm sure you can find Titan XP and 4k benches somewhere.
Imo, thats not a worthwhile match of screen to GPU. You are not likely to see a much of a difference between a 27" 4k screen and a 5k one. Personally I would replace it with any 30"+ 4k screen. The 5k imac is just a waste of pixel and GPU power for such a relatively small screen.
i m not sure it can handle 5k gaming actually. tb3 connection is a problem tooSo isn't the current Titan XP something like $3000? Good grief we can build a fairly high end rig that will last for years for that kind of money.
Are you talking about using a GPU enclosure to connect the Titan Xp externally or using the iMac 5k as a display connected to another PC via TB3?
thank you, actually i play only paladins and overwatch !What games are you trying to play? Thunderbolt enclosures can incur a pretty hefty performance hit depending on title.
Pretty much. Most people aren't even gaming in 4K yet.am i the only one gaming in 5?

Plus theres really no point in 5k gaming with 4k around. Not only is it much more difficult to run, I doubt many can tell the difference on screens smaller than 30".
Short answer, not really. 4K was excellent with Titan Xp SLI for me and 1080ti at 4K is good. 5K will not be good in modern games but probably playable.can i play with my titan xp on imac 5k using TB3?
decent performance?

with titanxp?Been playing Destiny 2 in 4k with decent results. IMO its not worth the hit when 1k and 2k look and play great.
Ahahaha! No, sorry, I missed that bit! Just a plain old PC with an Rx480. Nothing special.with titanxp?
