on december 2nd, gap is having a friends and family day. 30% off full-priced merchandise, 15% off promotional and sal priced, 30% all merchandise at gap outlets. the only thing is that you must be invited by an employee of Gap. i jsut recieved an invitation from my friend who works at one, and it says you must present the invitation when you purchase on that day.

This one is definitely for friends as well? The last one was family only and the person we know who works there said she could get fired if she invited non-family members.

so how does Gap tell if someone is say, a cousin? is it direct family only (i.e. same surname)? otherwise, how could they tell?

there is an actual invitation card that you recieve from a FRIEND or FAMILY that works at gap. inside the invitation they have to write down their name, relation, and where they work.

Gap is in trouble in terms of sales figures so that I doubt they give you a hard time if you didn't have an invitation. Last month, I successfully talked them into selling me a pair of $49 jeans for $29. They are desperate for sales because ppl are shopping elsewhere.

I called Gap card and told them i never receive any Gap points in the mail , they sent me $50. in points.

The hot deal is he knows someone who works at the gap, and he got an invatation. It's not a hot deal at all. Anyone who knows someone who works at the gap can get discounted merchandise. They can just buy it as an employee and give it to you.

Maybe Gaps rule is just like banana republic's. Friend told me that banana republic actually makes employees buy their size only. Of course that might not have made a difference anyway. In either case if you know a person you can get a mark down for your clothes.

Last time Gap had a Friends and Family thing going on, back on August I think, they had coupons... practically everyone and their mothers used that one

I guess Gap got drained from August or something. The invitation surely limits many people from getting them discounts.

I was lucky enough to have a friend who works at gap and here's the deal.
it valid for friends familly or bums off the street as ong as they get an invitation card.
The only trick is, is that you usually need to be friends or family to get a card.
Regardless, I'm going shopping on the 2nd...

i talked to my friend and she said that they were give a limited number of invitations. she's gonna go try and get more. but i don't know if i can get it to you guys in time. i'll keep you guys posted.

i worked at eddie bauer and we could only buy for our self, spouse and children with discount
policy is pretty much same everywhere, but with current economy they will sell to just about anyone with a card. they would rather sell full price, hence the restrictions

not to be fradulent but if you know someone who *should* have given you a card you may even be able to use that excuse into getting a discount

vojky you're an idiot, and the discount rule for gap and banana and what not is you get 50 percent discount on items of your size, limited to 6 in a month and the rest of the discounts are 30 percent off, and its pretty much unlimited.

i saw my friend today while she was working and she said they're all out of the gap invitations. but she gave me 3 extra invitation for banana republic. same discounts on the same day. but i don't know if i can get it to you in time. if anyone is in the Riverside, Orange County area and know where South Coast Plaza is. i might be able to get you the invitation in time.

I got all three invitations. Now i'm wondering if i'm able to stack this with the old navy b&m coupon that just came out the $10 of 50 and the $15 off 75...
