Does that upgrade come with the unit or is it online? How much are upgrades normally?

you have to register your garmin unit online and download the upgrade for it. The upgrade is about a 2gb file..so it takes a while from their servers. Initially when I went to upgrade mine, it said there was not enough space available on the GPS to load the update.. I was like WTF its brand new. So, I hooked the GPS up to the pc and deleted all the additional languages and crap that I didn't need on there to allow the upgrade. Worked fine after that.

you get the first upgrade free..the next ones I think are $69.

Did we download the same thing? I plugged in the Nuvi 200 and it downloaded some kind of update, but it only took maybe 20 seconds.

This is the software version that the website says is on my device right now after the update. Previously, it was 4.00.

For those interested, I believe you can now save Waypoints with the software update. I added my current location as "Apartment" to my favorites list. Not sure if it's the same thing, but WOW is this device incredible! If you're still thinking about it, what the hell are you waiting for? It's a bargain!

There was another shopper nearby and we were both checking out the Nuvis. He told me that he got a great deal for the 200W at Cabela's for $170 or so. I said that this is on sale for $150 and he got a shocked look on his face. "Damn!" Then when I whipped out the $50 coupon, he nearly pooped himself and went to find a Best Buy sales rep and asked the difference. The guy said that it was just widescreen and that's about it. The guy got a pissed look on his face and walked away. :laugh:

coupon scanned and worked for me today at the new bestbuy on Waukegan in Illinois. (Northfield and Glenview area) He intially did have trouble scanning it, but after a few tries it went through. make sure to keep the print out pristine...

after it scanned he asked for a rewards card, I created a new free account online minutes earlier and printed out the temp card and it was accepted.

Pretty sure they'll figure out a way to make one of these conditions apply on BF.

I got 1 in NY. I ordered it on-line and picked it up. I used the coupon as a price match, they weenie-whined about it, but gave it to me.
Free North America NT as a download after registration, update download took quite a while, but worth it, I think.

was there not a bunch of warnings inside the manuals and such? I bought a c530 a while back and kept finding the statement on various documents inside the box.

I suction mine to the driver side window, works well there for me. I didn't want to glue a suction disk to my dash, it would look weird and I might as well paste a sign to my window: "expensive electronics inside!". It's just not a good location if you need to pay a lot of tolls
