People tend to forget that other countries, especially Europe tax their gas/diesel at over 60%. Taxes for the loss.
Hell, does that make Venenzuela great with it $0.12 per gallon (yes, $0.12 per gallon) cheap (even though it's subsidized with oil revenues - reverse of taxation)???

I have no problems with increasing the gas tax if it were used responsibly. Using it to cover more subsidies to the oil companies is not. They are already showing the most profitable quarters of any company ever.
