No, we're paying for the privilege of living in a state that's greater than the other 49 combined. Having the highest gas prices in the country sucks, but living elsewhere would suck even more.

CA isn't the last place in the country I'd choose to live, but it's in the bottom 25%.

come to Canada, we are paying close to $5.10/gallon and thats the norm

We pay $7.50 USD in my country. (1.77 euros per liter).
It's been like that for years.
In fact, it's been almost $8 USD here last year or so.

I've lived in Maine and now live in FL, I get Maine's down-to-earth people and beauty but damm it's horribly cold in wintertime, unless your into skiing your more or less home-bound because of the cold.

Station 2 blocks away from me is charging 4.77 a gallon... Costco 2 miles away 3.39 a gallon.

Not brain washed, I've been other places and I come running back. Today I was driving around with my convertible top down enjoying an absolutely perfect sunny day. While looking at most beautiful females in the country. Oh, and I'm about to go eat In-N-Out for a late night snack.

There's a reason my sister got a house in Texas for 70k that would have cost close to half a million here. While I'm not saying Cali isn't overpriced, it is, very very much so! But it's worth every penny because there's no even close to equal place out there.

I drive a hybrid. If it costs me an extra $12 to fill up my car it doesn't make that much difference. I can drive over 500 miles on 13 gallons of fuel.

woo woo 50+ MPG

only mid 40's with my Jetta TDI
And it's around $2.50/gal for diesel here in Cornfieldville, IL

No! Never been. Hawaii's kind of its own world, and I don't have much of an opinion. Looks like a nice place to visit, but the tropics don't appeal to me as a place to live. That's not even getting into the expense, and various hassles living on an island entails.

It's because Californians allow everybody and their mothers to bend themselves over backward and get screwed in the ass. Because taxes and fees and bullshits from the government to fleece the tax payers are just the norm here. I have the neither the time nor patience to list all that's wrong with Californians.
