Out of control would be like $4-5. The prices reflect the price of crude (at all-time highs due to potential threats against the source of the oil and quantity demanded by the U.S. and growth in China) and the fact that refining capacity in the U.S. is just about maxed out.

I dunno. I just heard on the radio (so I wasn't actulaly guessing), that owners of pumps make around $.04 per gallon, and when prices skyrocket their profits do not, since it's fairly static.

2.43 where i regularly fill up, 2.41 down the block from that, 2.35 back two blocks, 2.31 if i get it off the strip, and i saw 2.27 in san diego over the weekend, but sure to go up.

i'm NEVER buying gas on the friggin sunset strip again. overpriced. i'm going closer to my apt. even if it is convenient.
