Premium = $2.05
Super = $2.15

That was today at lunchtime. Good thing I use the pumps at work and get it for ~$1.60.

I paid 1.85 Sunday at a Mobil on Jersey side of Betsy Ross bridge (Philly), and with UPromise got 4 cents back so 1.81 is teh winnAR.

In 1973 gas was 39 Cents a gallon adjusted for inflation puts it about 1.65 so technically gas isn't really that much more money than 30 years ago and in 81 during the Iran/Iraq war gas went to $2.70 adjusted for inflation.
The vehicles we drive today are more fuel efficient and we actually have more disposable income than they did in 73. . .
So what are people beatching about?

On the bright side the price difference between premium and regular is still 20 cents, so it's falling as percentage of total.
My tank is empty today, so I gotta fill up 17 gallons of premium. Should set me back 40 bucks.

It's around $2.06 for the cheap stuff around here. I always wondered why instead of matching the competitors why wouldn't an owner of a station just beat his competition by 3 or 4 cents and watch the cars roll in. Hell, I know people around here that will drive thirty miles just to save a couple of pennies. I don't know how stations work though, so I could be wrong on this but wouldn't cheaper prices but higer volume of sales still equal a profit.
