The 2020 Global Pandemic showed the true hand of the scam Oil/Gas Industry.

Yeppers. All during the pandemic prices have been skyrocketing because of the scam Oil/Gas industry. Oh, wait...

U.S. All Grades All Formulations Retail Gasoline Prices (Dollars per Gallon)
Jan 2020 $2.636
Feb 2020 $2.533
Mar 2020 $2.329
Apr 2020 $1.961

Currently "the highest average price in the nation for regular-grade gas is $3.11 per gallon in Honolulu. The lowest average is $1.69 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The average price of diesel is $2.55, the same as two weeks ago."

Prices are rising as gasoline demand has hit its highest level since early March with the return of US drivers to the roads,

If a supplier goes out of business the supply curve moves and price goes up.
Thats Econ 101.

Was his account hacked and is this a parody post? If not, congrats on creating reviving your greatest hits.

As far as I can remember gas prices have been skyrocketing, from around $2 a gallon in 2000 to... around $2 a gallon today. It's a sight to behold.

Still trying to figure out why you care so much. My work truck gets 10mpg with 35 gallon tank I fill up every week and I don't even pay attention to gas prices, I just fill it up. What are you filling up a prius? Who cares if it costs an extra $10 a tank. Hell after 20 years of the same complaining, why haven't you bought a tesla and solar for your house yet.

I was going to say: while this can hurt low-income workers who need to commute, there is an upside in that it should push people back toward considering electric and hybrid cars. Countries like France and the UK are even expected to bank on EVs as part of their recovery plan by giving people incentives to ditch gas and diesel sooner than they might have otherwise.

I've always thought people get WAY too excited over gas prices (low or high). If you drive all day, then ok. But for most of us it's the difference between eating lunch out once or twice a month vs bringing a sandwich to work.

Not that I'm driving right now anyway, not with stores and other places full of non-mask-wearing "freedom lovers". I do start the car up once in a while.

Gas prices are definitely creeping up here in CT. Mid-March I was paying 1.50 gal, now in my area the cheapest is 1.90-despite crude oil prices of $36 a barrel.

I'd like to see some sort of free market explanation why gas prices go up a whole lot faster than when they go down. Unless we are deluding ourselves that we have free market capitalism in the US?

Me too, my mom would drive like 10 minutes out of her way to get gas that was $0.10 a gallon cheaper. I do not think that was a good use of her time/money.

I mean...I understand why no one would want to read the OP, because obviously, but Dave is pointing towards INDIA. (which, I assume, is actually still really cheap for typical India prices)

....lol. still, lol.

Yes. A while back we raised the gas tax in our state. If you consume 10 gallons per week on average and the gas tax goes up 5 cents that's an extra 50 cents per week. People were freaking out as if the world was ending.

Gas Prices Skyrocketing

June 8, 2020
India Gasoline prices, 08-Jun-2020
Gas is already almost $4 in India. It has past $2.50 in California and rising fast.

Gas was the equivalent of $4.01 in India in January prepandemic and is about $3.83 per gallon now. It is about $.08 per gallon higher now than than at it's lowest point in Apr.

Facts matter.

I would’ve thought Dave would drive a Tesla by now... or at least a Nissan Leaf.
