You guys need to quit bitching. Those in P&N have told me just to STFU and quit bitching and buy a better MPG car and take alternative transportation and car pool and move closer and that gas/oil companies aren't gouging and...and...and....

They must be right. Everyone of you, run out and buy a nice new gas efficient car and all will be well. If you can't afford it, then you must not be real, ast least according to some. If you can't buy a new one, do all/some of the other things on the list and make sure you get a manual transmission and no AC while you're at it.

Ok, I feel better now!

I paid $2.90/gallon last night to fill up the Maxima...that's for middle grade. Premium was over $3.00/gallon.

i get about 30 mpg. my car, which looks similar to this one, is bought, paid for, and runs like a champ. i keep it tuned, oil changed every 3000 miles, and all regular maintenance.
it now costs about $35 to fill it when i used to be able to fill it for $20.

Hesitant to just post the model and year it seems?

30 highway or city? I get about 20 city, which honestly isn't bad for a 13-year-old 3.8L V6 engine.

My girlfriend works at Sheetz, she said a dime price jump tomorrow is coming. OMFG enough is enough.

Okay, so a quick dabble in P&N - what are some of the rumored causes of this, and what are some of the definitive causes of this? I just want to get a good grasp on why this is happening, and why now, and how high we can expect it to go.

Because of the way the Country voted last November.

What did you expect, they are Oil Barons.

Well what will the peak figure be before people can't even afford to drive to work and the government is forced to cut taxes or something similar to drop the price.

You show how much of a complete idiot you are everytime you post. Enough....simply shut up until you know what you are talking about, but if prior posting is any indication that is never going to happen.

Local paper is reporting shortages in the Charlotte area as the pipelines from the Gulf are shutdown. Prices have been seen at 2.99 a gallon when they were 2.54 before Katrina.

You lucky guys, I filled up at 2.77 Tuesday night expecting a rise. It went over $3 dollars yesterday. And I just saw that average here in Chicago is 3.49. In one place it is nearly $6.

This is insane. Any guesses where this will go?
