Most of the stations were around $2 and they all went to $2.19

Jumped another 10 cents again yesterday.

They are now in the $2.30 range.

So wait... you're saying that prices are almost 10-20% lower than they were months ago when you first made your phoney prediction?

By the way, still waiting for you to post the source of the "Drive for Five" name, which you claimed to have.

You'll never see the "source". Rove, Libbey Cheney etc I am not.

By the way I know a couple of folks in Nigeria now too working oil over there.

I am afterall in the heart of what used to be America's oil belt.

They only fire up the local wells when oil hit's $70 now.

Of course for a select elite few in here prices have mysteriously stayed the same or even went down.

2-20-2007 U.S. gasoline prices jump to six-week high

U.S. retail gasoline prices jumped 5.5 cents over the last week to their highest level in six weeks, the government said on Tuesday.

Rising pump prices mirror more expensive crude oil, which accounts for about half the cost of making gasoline.

In the EIA's new weekly survey, West Coast service stations had the priciest gasoline by region, up 6 cents to $2.60 a gallon. Among major cities, San Francisco had the highest pump price at $2.81 a gallon, up 6.8 cents.

The cheapest gasoline was along the Gulf Coast at $2.13 a gallon, up 4 cents from a week earlier. Houston had the best deal at the pump at $2.10 a gallon, up 4 cents.

The EIA also reported that gasoline prices were up 4.2 cents to $2.46 in Seattle, up 7.8 cents to $2.36 in Chicago, up 6.3 cents to $2.33 in Miami, up 4.9 cents to $2.26 in New York City, up 9.7 cents to $2.21 in Denver and up 4.6 cents to $2.20 in Boston.

Separately, the price of diesel fuel increased by 1.5 cents to $2.49 a gallon, up 3.6 cents from a year ago.

The West Coast had the priciest diesel, up 0.7 cent to $2.78 a gallon. Diesel was cheapest along the Gulf Coast, up 2.4 cents to $2.42 a gallon.

And they still state that it is not expected to crack a $3 average.

Prices always start rising on "interesting" news.

FUD just makes it worse.

A select few - like those of us in Texas, Maryland, Nevada, Colorado, OOOOOOKKKKLLLLAAAAAHHHHHOOOOMMMMAAAA?????????

And explain this:

02/16/2007 08:38 PM

For the lazy:

$3.29 is the lowest

02/20/2007 07:35 PM

West Coast service stations had the priciest gasoline by region, up 6 cents to $2.60 a gallon. Among major cities, San Francisco had the highest pump price at $2.81 a gallon, up 6.8 cents.

Looks like prices went down 40 to 60 cents in 4 days in Cali, Dave.

Not according to CPA, he must be in a priviledged area in Cali you're not familiar with.
Those lower prices might be out there, but over mon/tue/today, I was in the valley, downtown, westside and Long Beach area, and I didn't see anything better than $2.73 at a Mobil station in Granada Hills (the valley).

The oil barons "operation" is to raise the price of gas for any reason possible. "Today in the news -- A grasshopper has landed on an oil pipeline valve causing a massive disturbance. Speculation is that the valve may blow sending oil prices skyrocketing" :disgust:

Don't worry for all those who laugh at what people pay for gas in California, $3.00 a gallon will soon be coming to a town near you this summer.

Maybe you should stop blathering on about your conspiracy theories for a minute and think about why California has such high gas prices. It certainly isn't because of the oil barons.

Its all a lose-lose situation anyway..

The oil barons will claim the winter/cold weather is causing a high demand...
Then.. when spring comes about.. the oil barons will claim high demand again, since of course its the spring/summer vacation season..

Then, when the fall season comes along, the barons will use the "Its maintenance time" and claim that they are only operating at 75% capacity..

Its just a repeating cycle.. same $hit.. different day..

Throw another wrinkle into the mix:
Auto makers are not doing their part in manufacturing more fuel efficient autos..
The government's lax'd mandates are a joke..

Yeah, it's not like we have historical references to go by......

Oh, and manufacturers are making considerably more fuel efficient vehicles. However, people want large vehicles, so companies continue to make them. If you want to complain to someone, go yell at your neighbors driving around in Yukons, Expeditions, Sequoias or any other land yacht.

Dave, I know you have a hard time comprehending things, hence some of your off the wall articles and predictions, but please reread my post. I qouted you within a span of 4 days about the price of gas in Cali.

Oh, I don't live in Cali.

Damn.. ten cent jump just from this morning. Noticed this on my drive home this afternoon.

Hmm.. means my predictions are on schedule: $2.50 by Memorial Day; Over $3.00 by Labor Day. Actually, I'm willing to wager that we'll see $2.50 before Memorial Day. (in my area.. anyway.. north. Maryland)..

aaah..here we go again..

I guess the 10 cent jump Thursday wasn't enough.. Back up .03 Friday..

$2.35 and not showing any signs of slowing down. I say $2.60 by Memorial Day; over $3.25 by Labor Day.

EPA Auto Fuel Economy Ratings Plummet With New 2008 Guidelines
Hybrids take the biggest hit with the new 2008 model year EPA changes. The Toyota Prius, Toyota Camry Hybrid and Honda Civic Hybrid drop from 60/51 (city/highway), 40/38 and 49/55 to 48/45, 33/34 and 40/45 respectively. That's a pretty tough pill to swallow for potential hybrid buyers.

Any hybrids on the market that you can plug into a wall outlet to charge rather than charging it with the engine?

Hey you hear the oil baron supporters on here, obviously demand has magically gone through the roof for no apparent reason.

We must be in danger of running out of gasoline despite still overflowing inventories.
