I haven't used it much yet, but here's my first impressions.
- Need to delete a lot of the crap software they included. It has Vista Home Premium, and some trial versions of Office and McAfee, both of which I'll trash and install my own full licensed versions.
- The 17" display is AWESOME! Our old laptop was 14", talk about a huge difference! It's also nice having the number keypad actually have dedicated keys.
- weight is nice, about 7.5 pounds. Definately not a problem.
- So far I haven't noticed it giving off too much heat on my legs, not like some laptops I've used.
- The touchpad mouse is pretty decent, and none of the keys or buttons are stiff by any means.
- For upgrading, one downside I've noticed is that it has 2 sticks of 512mb DDR2 ram in it. So to upgrade to 2gb will require swapping out both sticks for 1gb versions. kind of annoying...
