Gateway/necx canceling recent Visiontek 4400/4600 orders without notification, check your orders

I have not received mine yet (reordered on 3/15). I have not bothered to call. I will wait until April 11th and then get concerned. That is only a week.

why? why? why did gateway ship it just when i decided to cancel it? i am going to step on that damn card into pieces when it gets here, to get my revenge.... for the waiting...dissappointment...giving up... i am really pissed now, don't want this damn card right before my finals

I don't think you will have a hard time either refusing to recieve the shipment (UPS will send it back to Gateway) or you can easily Ebay it or sell it to a member here for what you paid for it.

Had my order reinstated on March 21st and it still lists as "Product Backordered." Call and the CSR said it's due by Mid-April like some of you other guys. It's nice to read all the great posts on this card in the meantime. Just makes the wait a little hard to keep swallowing. It will pair with my Athlon XP 1900+, ABIT KR7A-RAID, 512MB PC2100 RAM, 21' Viewsonic monitor very nicely, I think...

I got my 4600 last night. Scored 10265 on 3DMark2001SE with the reference 28.32 Nvidia drivers on WinXP. Motherboard is Abit KR7A-133R with Athlon 1800+. Have not overclocked anything yet but may try this weekend.

I just got really tired of waiting for this $hit to get to me so i emailed them :|
I got the reply saying the same story they told everyone... :disgust:
But in the email it does say:
Our warehouse has verified that we are
anticipating inventory to arrive within the next ten days to fill your
order...

My original order date was way back on the 21st of FEB...
and it has been A MONTH AND A HALF already....STILL NO FRIGGIN CARD

on 4/3/2002 i checked my order and the web site said that my g-force 4-4400 had been shipped
and my credit card was charged so i hope to get it on monday does anyone else card has shipped

Many of us have recieved our boards now... they are not lying if they say it shipped.... call them on Monday if you really want and get the UPS tracking number.

FINALLY!!! Sure enough, my 4600 shipped out yesterday after having my order reinstated on 3/21. Strange thing is that my card hasn't been charged yet! I guess it takes a couple of days to go through. Regardless, at least this fiasco will finally be over and I can get ready to rip through the next round of games!

I just called to check on my order status on the 4400 and they said now end of April. Sucks when I was one of the first to order than get screwed on my reorder and have to wait forever.

I called today to confirm the 4-11 instock date they gave me a month ago, when I reordered. They also gave me the end of April due date and couldn't tell me where I was at on the list. The CSR stated it was still a Visiontek supply problem and that Gateway has only been able to fill a couple of orders because of the bottleneck.........

I was planing on calling today to cancell my order, because I just need a card now, but lo and behold!

MY CARD HAS SHIPPED!!!!!!!!!!

and to gunf1ghter - What i meant to say is: I suspected that they were intentionaly delaying/under ordering in order to get as many people to cancell orders as possible. I was aware that many cards had already been shiped. It certainly wasnt hundreds though. I can confirm that much. I knew eventualy they would ship.

Well, I finally received my GF4 Ti 4600 and I have to say that I'm extremely pleased. To think I started out with an Orchid Righteous 3D 4MB PCI card based on the 3Dfx Voodoo 1 for Quake 1 back in the day. This thing is absolutely SICK! I love it. BTW, it comes with Power Director and Power DVD XP in the box so there is not need to send away for anything like the first batch of cards. MOH looks absolutely stunning with everything maxed out. Make sure you guys select QUINCUNX in the additional properties for 4X Antialiasing quality without a real performace hit. I'm a happy camper! Now where is DOOM III, Unreal Tournament II, and Duke Nukem Forever?!? I wanna stress this puppy!
