I have the Pentium M version of this lappy in the same chasis. 14" UB screen is very nice and build quality is surprisingly good...much better than some of the other Gateways in the recent past. I am kind of surprised to see DDR2 listed in the specs on Gateway's site-is that a typo? I guess it's because this cheapie version doesn't use an Intel chipset?

Also, just one slot for RAM so you'll have to toss the 256mb stick if you wanna upgrade.

Card reader DOES read & write to 2gb SD cards (many, many integrated card drives have trouble with 2 & 4gb SD cards) but I had to download an updated driver for the TI PCMCIA chipset from Toshiba since Gateway didn't mention one on their site.

i went to my local office depot to check out this laptop, but i dont think they had any. do you have a copy of the ad or somewhere where i can obtain the ad. thanks a lot.
