i had one, was going to mame it but decided to dump it. gauntlet legends is a pretty crappy game. my suggestion it to mame that so you can play all sorts of 4 player games. no one gives a crap about gauntlet legends. i'll tell you the 4p money arcade game. nba jam or nba jam TE. now that game holds up. i throw gaming parties a lot and it always gets play. people will get tired quick with gauntlet. nba jam has 2 on 2 action, epic finishes, it's the perfect 4p arcade game.

You mean sausage parties?

It's hilarious that alkemoron has tried no less than 4 times to troll this thread and hasn't gotten a single real response. Must be that most people have him on permanent ignore. I just had to click 'view' to see what silliness he's spewing. Comedic gold.

I loved the original gauntlet in the arcade. Awesome game. I still enjoy gauntlet on NES emulators, but it isn't the same. It would be so awesome to be able to pick up a Gauntlet like you are and play with friends. Alas, most of my video-gaming ended when I left college, and the current crop of folks I hang around with don't do a lot of video games.

actually it turns out this is one of the few games females will play. it's simple enough. I forget who she was playing as but one of my friends was a beast on the boards in her first few games and it was funny as shit.

ahh yet you couldn't resist mentioning it.

I was hardly trolling above. Putting a 4 person game in an 800 sqft apartment would be nuts.

He probably could use a real job or something. My brother has a MAME cabinet and he plays a lot with his roommates and such. I don't know if I could personally justify buying a real arcade machine if I didn't already have a set of friends to play it with. I enjoy pinball enough to get a table just for myself but an arcade machine has trouble holding my attention with the availability of video and PC games these days.

The Student Union finally got their Congo table worked on the past week or so. The company in town is horrible at maintaining the tables, you'd think a flipper mechanism cost as much as a new table. But now I'm moving out of state and will have to find a new set of haunts for pinball tables.

someoen near me is selling a Galaga in pretty good condition for $700

One game i really want is err. it as a football game with robots. They would explode on 4th down and if they got to beat up. i can't remember the game but i do remember playing it all the time.

A Galaga, for $700? Sounds a bit pricy to me. Is it the stand-up or cocktail table?

God man they had this game in the rec center at georgia when I went there. If you were my friend I would bring over a bottle of the captain's finest (Captain Morgan's Private Stock fyi) and spend the week at your house...lol

stand up.

looks in good shape. i thought $700 was high.

Yeah, for a standup I think that's too high. Problem is though that buying and selling arcade machines is still a fairly regional market when you consider the shipping costs. Always a take it or leave it proposal, and how often does that one game that you're looking for pop up for sale where you are? What's frustrating for me is hearing about how so and so got their machine at bargain price from such and such closing down. It's really getting to be a collector's market now that the business ownership of machines is practically negligible. Still seems like it was only yesterday that I could walk into a gigantic arcade and play countless machines and tables.
