so classy: you may choose to sleep with that prostitute, or not; but does it matter at all to you if that prostitute is male or female?

Now your asking the golden question. Is it ok for a man to be with a man or woman to be with a woman? The answer is no. If you have that desire than just like I have to resist sleeping with other women because I am married, you should have to do the same by resisting sleeping with men, if your a man. You are who you are and you are what you are. And the rules of right and wrong should be no different for you. Why should you be allowed to go into a man's bathroom? I am not allowed to go into a woman's bathroom.

you are comparing apples to oranges, and you know it, classy

if you chose to be unfaithful, would both men AND women attract you, or would you only be turned on by a woman?

Hmmm... probably only with some courts. Let's face it, the vast majority of people who thought gayness was a choice were hopelessly zealous or hateful. So not many people are going to change their minds. Hopefully some like alchemize will but I doubt they'll be many.

Well, PhillyTIM bravely resisted the urge to offer a blow-job to a total stranger because he is committed to his partner, but I see no reason why he shouldn't be sexually intimate with that partner.

Are you worried some gay guy is going to check out your trouser snake?

Hahaahaha that's just another disciminatory U.S. (yes other Countries too).

There are many Countries where men & woman use the same bathrooms by choice.

Don't forget Ally McBeal.

Actually, tho, I think men's hygiene habits are too disgusting for women to ever want to share public restrooms with them. Let's face it, male public restrooms are usually filthy.

Well I guess Classy is stuck contemplating how he is gonna answer back to my last question.

Somehow I don't think that he "could" be attracted to another man; if he slept around with a prostitute, i'm sure it wouldn't be a man, because it's in his genes not to be attracted to men.

If being with men or women was a choice one could make, then I'd take whichever one was available and closest to me, regardless of sex. But I never had the desire, or will have the desire, to go into some pooty-tang.

I'm all for gay rights but I am worried about the trouser peeks. If I was in a room with naked women, they would become sexual objects for me. I know gays do the same for men. Gays should have their own lockeroom. I'm not joking.

You'll still have the bisexual guys in with you.

I think this is being blown out of proportion. Being in a public restroom is uncomfortable for everyone, because you're forced to engage in private bodily functions in a public sphere. No-one likes their privacy invaded, and I certainly don't make a habit of staring at other men's genitalia in public restrooms.

I would put bisexuals with the gays. Or more seriously there should be a move to more private spaces in public facilities. No more communal showers.

But it's an issue. People should have the right not to be viewed sexually in certain places. Having a gay person think a straight guy on the street is one thing, have a gay guy look at someone's ass is another. Again, I'm not saying straight guys are above this but they don't get to change with women either.

Look, in every gym class you ever took at school or college, there would have been at least a couple of gay guys. I'm sure they didn't call attention to themselves by staring lustily at your naked body, in fact you probably don't even know which of the guys actually were gay.

I do think privacy is a good thing, and private showers, etc. would be great. The only justification I can think of for communal showers is to save space or money.

I really feel this thread is giving an innaccurate perception of the rest room etiquette of gay males. What can I say to reassure you, Infohawk?

That's what I'm talkin' aboot. I mean you can be turned on but I might be a little weirded out thinking other guys could be checkin' out my member. now before you flip out on me I'd feel just as uncomfortable if there was a woman watching me take a leak. Even if the person isn't attracted to me that freaks me out a little now that I think about it....

It is patently obvious who is heterosexual in a men's rest room, i.e., the guys with tensed up bodies rigidly staring straight ahead in case they accidently catch a glimpse of some other dude's genitals. Every gay guy can tell a) you are heterosexual, and b) you are uncomfortable, and they aren't going to be looking your way. This guy Philly TIM was checking out was almost certainly gay. They were "cruising" each other. There were probably heterosexual guys standing about completely oblivious to what was going on between PhillyTIM and the guy.

Naw - I'm pretty good at looking relaxed when I evacuate

My gaydar is fairly solid though - I have a keen eye for detail and body langauge. I dunno if my gaydar is also some sort of false beacon though cause I get hit on by guys about as often as I get hit on by girls. I don't get pissed off or anything - it's a nice complement.

First of all, we had a pretty idea of who was gay. There were a couple suprises but our knowledge is not the point. Would it be okay if I oggled at women without them knowing it? I don't think so. I don't think it's unreasonable to want not to be viewed by those that are sexually attracted to you and where you don't reciprocate.

Well that's good news. Now a cure can be found.

God I do hope my sarc-O-meter is on the fritz today.
Why? Don't you think that there will be some gays who want to be "cured"? Would you deny their rights?

Don't you think there will be parents, who given the choice for some genetic switch-flipping before birth, would not want their children to be gay? Would you deny their rights?

Personally I am not a proponent of genetically engineering birth traits, like ones sex or their sexuality. I kind of leave it up to God the roll the dice and let a human develop as God obviously intended for them to develop. Whether it be gay or straight.

That is the whole part of the Fundie argument with homosexuality that I never could quite understand. It is all God's will as far as I am concerned. God made us all, don't you think it is possible he makes no mistakes and has a grand design for everyone? I think the Fundies who will have a lot of explaining to do and spend a great deal of time in purgatory when they meet their maker one day.

Oh, and here is a for the "denying of rights" tripe.

It isn't tripe, its a perfectly valid statement. If a "cure" was created, some people would desire it pure and simple.. Your shows your hypocrisy that is typical of many liberals.

Let's expose it some more. So answer this question, you are against genetically engineering birth traits, are you pro-abortion rights?

Look, I cannot deny that if I see a hot guy in the showers at the gym I am going to check him out. If you wandered into the locker rooms and saw Cindy Crawford naked in the showers, would you surreptitiously check her out, or somehow completely ignore her presence? All I can say is that I don't ogle at people, nor am I rude, in these situations. I acknowledge that you feel uncomfortable at the thought of being seen in a sexual way in these situations. I don't know what can be done about it, tho. I just don't see schools, universities, businesses, suddenly setting aside additional bathroom space for gay people. And would you need another bathroom space for lesbians? Maybe lesbians and straight dudes can share, and gay guys and straight women can share.

In a lot of places now they have non-communal showers. It's a good solution.

And the difference between the Cindy Crawford and gay situation is that Cindy Crawford doesn't have to put up with guys in her rooms whereas straight guys have to put up with gay guys in their rooms.

Not if I sedate them first with gifts: cartons of Camels, comfortable shoes and flannel shirts.

a good point. I think non-communal showers is the answer. I was always confused about how the girls showers were non-communal but the guys were communal. What's the deal with that. (no asking about why I was in the girls shower room bishes)

Why do the rooms belong to you? It's just as reasonable to say gay guys have to "put up with" straight guys in their (gays') change rooms. Gay guys are the same gender as heterosexual guys. We have just as much right to use the male change rooms as you do.

My Cindy Crawford comment was me trying to convey the difficulty of ignoring a sexy, naked body standing right in front of you. Would you be surreptitiously check Cindy Crawford out if she DID mysteriously turn up showering in the men's change rooms at your gym? Or would you easily competely ignore her?

Gay guys don't have to worry about being sexually objectified by straight guys. On the other hand, gays do have to worry about other gays.

Sure you do. Just like women have a right too. Doesn't mean we all need to change together.

I would definitely be checking her out, that's why she needs her own room.
