While I don't think that they can't or shouldn't, I worry about what "gay" relationships will do in terms of the continuance of humanity. The human race is not Asexual, we require opposite genders to procreate. If we were denied our access to technology (and/or the idea of a sperm bank is considered abborant), and "gay" people wanted to respect the bond they have with their partnet in terms of sexual activity, where does this leave us?

The only issue I have personally with the issue of "gay" marrage is when they try to force it on people that disagree with it. Part of the foundation for the agruement (IMO) for Gay marriage is the right to choose. People have the right to choose that they don't like the idea of Gay marriage do they not? I don't believe in people attempting to force their values of beliefs on others which is something that bugs me from time to time with the crusaders of Gay marriage.

They HAVE to force the issue, because how else are they going to change it? I'm sure if it's anyone who doesn't appreciate having values and beliefs shoved on them, it's the gays.

Marriage is a religious affair, and it should remain up to the churches to decide if they want to "marry" gays. Which should appease the religious zealots, but it doesnt. They apparently need to make sure gays don't get tax breaks either.

Forcing the issue and closing down a local street to parade gay rights are completely different, I think that part of the problem is that the cause has some people who are "cause" bandwagon jumpers that hinder the cause more then help.

Except it has been considered and addressed in this thread, along with many other threads throughout the history of AT. Over and over and over again. There is absolutely no evidence that the percentage of homosexuals has changed significantly through the course of human history. You have basically thrown out a red herring, an argument that has no significant basis but is irrefutable because it is unprovable ("Prove that the population won't decline!") to buy time while you try to think of a more plausible reason to keep gay marriage illegal.

How does changing biased laws equate to forcing homosexuality down your throat? If you don't accept it, then don't accept it - that's all you can do. Do you think I enjoy living a life where the government gives biased benefits to heterosexual couples, yet they can't afford the same basic rights to me?

If you didn't want people to dicuss the issue, share opinions, and consider what you have said. Then why bother posting. If I am ignorant, and solid point that you bring up changes my mind, then you have accomplished something.

Blacks and women needed to close down streets to make changes, and I'm sure people were as irritated back then.

I will admit, there was a time when I thought being gay meant you had a mental illness. That there was something wrong with you. Not that I thought they should be locked up or anything, but the idea that something was wrong made sense to me. After many long years of coming to grips with how amazingly homosexual the animal kingdom is, I realize I was wrong all along.

It is not, and can not be a genetic "disease". It's in our genes alright, but it isnt a disorder. There is no such thing as a common genetic disorder - if it was common, it would have been selected out of the gene pool millions of years ago. The "incidence" of homosexuality bears no correlation with the incidence of most genetic disorders, homosexuality is far, far higher. Homosexual behavior is still around for a reason...what that reason is, I'm not quite sure of, but either theres a very good reason why it is, or a very good reason why it doesn't hurt survivability enough that such an obviously maladaptive trait still lingers.

If you want to do the research and find out exactly how many homosexuals there are now and how many there were 100 years ago, you can. If it's important enough to you.
