Interrupting a church service is just being an ass.

Not if the church is using the service to support denying you rights.
If the church does not want gays interfering with their services, it should not be interfering in their lives.

ok, I suppose if they could prove that the pastor was preaching hate and intolerance in a manner directly related to prop 8 then it would be a little more acceptable. But I still think that its a dick move.

no more of a dick move than religious extremists trying setup religious laws in this country that affect people who don't give a flying fuck about their religion

No more of a dick move than the church instructing their flock to vote for denying gays the same rights that they have.

Yes, I answered that in my post. See it up there? If the church supported prop 8 directly then it would be a little more acceptable.

That is religious foundation for denying gays the right to get married that this ministries teaches.

Send them a letter or something and tell them how hypocritical you think they are. Why complain to us in numerous threads. Hell, even Dave knows to keep identical news stories in one, tidy thread.

*Gets out sheet of paper and pen.*

Thanks for the advise!

Anyways, they all need new threads for the same reason Sarah Palin needed 100+ threads in 2 months.

They need their own thread as much as there needs to be a thread every time a homosexual person has the shit kicked out of the them for being outwardly gay. I wonder how the scales would tip if we compared that violence to these kinds of peaceful protests in new threads 365 days a year. Your motivation for posting these threads is crystal clear to everyone but you apparently. One can only hope you didn't pass this gene down. :disgust:

Feel free to post threads on such occurances. I will be the first to say I'm disgusted when it happens, unlike yours and others' responses to the topic here.

As far as my motivations go, please feel free to elaborate. I didn't know you were psychic.

Finally, if you are suggesting I'm homophobic or a bigot, you're going to need to prove how that is a "gene" that can be passed down.

No disagreement there. However, you still need to show me where "the church is instructing their flock to vote for denying gays the same rights that they have."

Nice try but I've never said that. What I HAVE said is that the people who are protestingthat act like this in fact, hypocrites.

So you're creating a thread to state the obvious?

I'm all for gay marriage, but I'm pretty damn sure this form of protest didn't gain them any additional support... if anything, it will likely result in even more religious folks jumping up to fight against gay marriage. And, trust me, that's a sleeping giant the gays don't want to wake. What they've seen so far is mild to what they'd see if they accidentally anger the entire religious community. I'm not sure of the exact figures, but I'm pretty sure religious folks outnumber gays by a very large margin.

Right or wrong, there are much better ways to make their point...

I'll agree with you there. There's a right and a wrong way to protest; ideally, a protest is done in a way that shares your viewpoint with others in a way they can understand, and shows that you have support for your cause, as a way to convince people that perhaps your point is worth listening to. This was an angry, spiteful protest (which I don't begrudge the gay population of California for; I'd be pissed off if someone took away my right to marry too) that is merely going to solidify the homophobes and convince them that they acted correctly. It is exactly the wrong thing to be doing, and I hope this group thinks long and hard before their next "protest" sets the queer movement back another step.

Bible Bigots have caused tremendous violence in the world against gays. The wheel of karma rolls on. What goes around comes around. One day Christians will be dragged to death behind cars because of the perversion they bring to the world.

Yeah those darned Salvation army workers, the nuns tending to lepers in Calcutta, the 3 million children supported by World Vision - those Christians sure deserve something all right.

If so, I would consider you a bigot. If not I'm still not sure what your point is in posting yet another of these idiotic, trivial threads.

What if I'm against all marriages? Legal unions across the board.
