No, it's the anti-semite card in general. It's interesting to me how conservatives who so constantly complain about the race card being played are so excited to... play the race card.

Pointing out the obvious isn't "playing the race card", but I'll tell you what, if the Left agrees to put it away and not use it again, we'll stop pointing those things out. Agreed?

Read the work of the Israeli historian, Ilan Pappe, "The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine" (2006).

Pappé supports the one-state solution, which envisages a binational state for Palestinians and Israelis.[10]

His work has been both supported and criticized by other historians. Before he left Israel in 2008, he had been condemned in the Knesset, Israel's parliament; a minister of education had called for him to be sacked; his photograph had appeared in a newspaper at the centre of a target; and he had received several death threats.[11]

No, people should always be free to point out when people involved are being racists. I mean think of all the racist things conservatives have done since 2008, why would you not want to call that out when it has happened? That being said, of course simply criticizing Obama doesn't make you a racist.

There are also lots of legitimately anti-semitic people out there, but simply disagreeing on Hamas doesn't make you one either. It's funny that by simply criticizing Israel while simultaneously saying that I find Hamas to be a horrible organization I have been repeatedly called an anti-semite. It's disgusting.

The problem is that people don't use the race card to call out obviously racist things. Saying Donald Sterling is a racist is fine. Saying a state is racist because they put up traffic cameras, which penalizing mostly blacks (real argument put forward in Montgomery, AL that got the traffic cameras deactivated, btw) is playing the race card for no reason. Saying companies hiring practices are racist because they don't hire enough minorities (while ignoring that the Asian minority is vastly over represented) and attempting to "diversify" hiring procedures is playing the race card stupid.

And, anyone claiming Hamas isn't a terrorist organization is an idiot. Anti-Semite, or not.

Hating Zionism != racism
Preaching that Israel should be destroyed = racism

Hamas does both, the Right ignores the former while the Left ignores the latter.

Those two are basically the same thing.

While I'm willing to bet the vast majority of people who think Israel shouldn't exist are anti-semites, not all of them are. In fact, there's a large segment of the ultra-orthodox in NYC that is fervently anti-Israel's existence. Presumably they aren't all self-hating.

No, they aren't. The first is at least a place to start a discussion, the second is going to be ignored or heavily criticized.

"Large"? A dozen ex-pat rabbis with ~100 followers is a "large segment"? Do you have any idea how many Hasidic Jews are in NYC?

I do! I used to live in Williamsburg, which is bordering one of the largest Hasidic communities in the city and now I live next to another large Hasidic community. There are a lot, lot more than 100 of them that are anti-zionist in this way.

Either way, they serve as a clear example of how one can be anti-zionist and believe Israel should not exist and not be an anti-semite. For the record, I am a strong supporter of Israel as a state, just not what Israel is doing in this case.

you keep posting this picture in every thread. the IDF is not a humanitarian army. they proved it over and over.
here is a recent one of them shooting a kid and mocking his injuries. classy.

did you not see the first 10 seconds of the clip where the 2 boys are throwing stones at whoever is down there? (probably some soldiers)
that was not live ammunition, but rubber bullets. standard procedure for dealing with stone throwers in the west bank.
otherwise they were just cracking jokes. the only thing you can blame them them for is having a bad sense of humor.

That's consistent with most of this thread though. The big mean jews should just let the kids throw rocks at their heads and in no way try to defend themselves.
