GB2488HSU-B3 Red Eagle [1ms, 144Hz, FreeSync] good monitor for my new 1080 ti ? Question.

Hello. So few days ago i sold my Gtx 1080 Xtreme for good prize.Tommorow i go buy 1080 Ti to shop. But i have already monitor 1080p 60hz Ijama Black Hawk 1ms. Not have cash for 4k monitor too sadly.

No. It's a FreeSync monitor. Nvidia GPUs don't support FreeSync, as they have their own competing technology (G-Sync).

And a 1080Ti for 1080p gaming? Even at 144Hz, that's just extreme overkill, and you're just asking to be CPU limited in the vast majority of games (making your new $700 GPU pretty much wasted). Unless you can afford a 1440p or higher monitor (still with high refresh rates), I'd hold off on switching out the monitor for now, and save up until you do. Half-assing a monitor purchase is generally not a good idea, as monitors typically last far longer than GPUs.

A 1440p 120-144Hz G-Sync monitor would be my recommendation.

GTA V is demanding with all ultra and msaa4x on 1080p.
Look at reviews. There are 30% increase even on 1080p res , in 1080 gtx vs 1080 ti

Given that the 1080 doesn't support FreeSync either, that specific monitor would still be a bad purchase for it. A 144Hz 1080p G-sync monitor makes more sense for a 1080 than a 1080Ti, though I'd argue you'd get more value from a (same size) G-sync 1440p 120-144Hz monitor even on that. Don't underestimate the difference in visual quality between 1080p and 1440p. It's very noticeable (and you wouldn't have to turn up AA as much due to the higher pixel density, which would boost performance even more).

At 60Hz, of course you're not CPU bottlenecked in GTA. That would be absurd. But a new GPU wont help your monitor refresh more than 60 times a second either ... As I said before, my recommendation (given that you've already sold your 1080) would be to buy the 1080Ti, keep your monitor for a while, save up some money, and buy a better monitor. That, or pull out of the deal to sell your 1080, and spend the money on a monitor instead. Although that might be too late.

Oh, and given that the 1080 only beats the 1070 by 7fps or 4.5% in the Guru3D review linked above, I'd say you're plenty CPU bottlenecked already (especially given that they're using a CPU with twice the cores/threads and higher clocks than yours).

Put it this way: from the Guru3D benchmarks, the 1080Ti performs 11.8% better than the 1070 at 1080p. With 86% more CUDA cores and similar clocks ... If that's not an illustration of being CPU limited, I really don't know what is.

Again, I'd recommend you hold off on your monitor purchase. If it was okay for your 1080 for you, it'll be okay for the 1080Ti at least for a while. Then, save up (and don't waste money on a halfway incompatible monitor that you'll only keep for a year) and buy a 1440p or 4k G-sync monitor when you can afford it.

That depends on the game, the workload, if (and if so how much) you OC your CPU, and a whole host of other factors. You might not be at all in some games, in others they might perform identically. If you truly want to know: read reviews. I have repeatedly linked you to one that tests a whole heap of games at 1080p, 1440p and 4k. Read that. Read a few others (they might use different CPUs, different game settings, and results will vary). Form your own impression. There is no fixed answer to that question. The only thing we can say for sure is that you'll be a lot less CPU limited if you overclock your CPU to 4.6GHz or so. Then again, there's no point at all in doing that on a 60Hz monitor.

Perhaps you should start trying out Virtual Super Resolution? The 1080Ti performs well in GTA V at 4K (78fps average according to Guru3D), and GeForce Experience can downscale that to your 1080p monitor and make it look quite good. Better than 1080p with loads of AA, that's for sure. That'd fit well with your current 60Hz panel too.

Buy the 1080 ti and enjoy it with the current monitor and later buy a 4k monitor!
With the 10xx nvidia series we can have 4k on decent fps that means the monitor market will produce them, till now they had focused to 1440p since we didn't have the cards to drive the 4k without loses on gaming!!!!!!
P.S. that is my opinion!

While the freesync is going to do nothing for you the 144Hz refresh will definitely improve your gaming experience.

My opinion is go for it and if you find you are still topping out games at 144fps then crank up dsr or aa and enjoy better image quality.

While that situation isn't ideal there is still a lot to be gained at the same time.
