As for this deal. What makes it hot is that its the blue GBA so its a limited edition color and if you want mariokart then its cheaper than what everyone else sells those other 4 boring colors for. Pretty sweet.

Wow, a decent deal on a GBA...there aren't many of these around.
I just bought one a couple of days ago at etoys with a $5 coupon, but this deal is better by far. At Amazon, I also picked up the Pokemon Monopoly for $4.97 and used a $5 coupon to bring down a little more. The good thing is I can return the etoys GBA to the local KBKids and not have to pay return shipping. Perfect timing, thanks for the deal.

Does anyone know if this is just an online deal or if it can be had at the TRU B&M? I live in Washington state and since TRU teamed up with Amazon, I have to pay for shipping and tax to have them send it about 10 miles from their warehouse to my apartment in Seattle. So if I can get it at the B&M, I can save myself $7 shipping. I tried calling them, but the electronics guy didn't know... I guess I'll have to pay them a visit tomorrow.

Forgive me for being an idiot, but how much do these normally retail for? I would like to get one myself, just for carrying around and using if I ever have to wait in line somewhere or if I'm on the can. Is this a hot deal? Damn...

I feel like waiting longer until it gets supa cheap. The newer games are kinda expensive as well, even up to $40-50. That's wayyyy too much for a little handheld console game. I wanna buy one when they go out of style and the games are 5 bucks a pop, and the console itself cheap enough to justify getting. I dunno, can somebody clue me in as to just how hot this deal is?

As far as waiting for it to get super cheap, you're wait may be a long one. From what I've seen, Nintendo products are rarely deeply discounted, even after they've been out for a while. The current Game Boy (not Advanced) has come down a little since the GBA came out, but still not much. This is probably as good a deal as you're going to get. The only thing that might make it better would be better coupons, free shipping, etc.

No, it retails for $89 at target/bb/cc/walmart or whatever and they never go under that price. And the game is $29.99 so its a good deal. Plus you get a color that nobody else has.

I was gonna jump on this deal but after tax and shipping, price gone up to over $110. Still a decent deal but not a flaming hot deal. I dont even like that cheesy mario game they bundled with this deal.

I am gonna pick one up at virgin for aprox. $70 with my blue card. and get golden sun for about 20

making my deal under $100 with a game that i really want.

It is true that the free shipping does not apply to video games or consoles, but I also used the $5 off coupon to cover the shipping. I'm in MI and did not pay sales tax either. You are not purchasing it from Toys R Us, but from Amazon Toys, LLC, or something like that. So, they must have formed a separate company to handle toys sales with the advantage of no sales tax in most states.

I bought this for my kid for Christmas, so the Mario Kart game is perfect, in fact, it is the game I was going to buy anyway. In the end, it ends up about $20 cheaper than any other deal I could come up with. If you don't like the game, but put it up on Half.com, etc., and you still end up ahead. The unique color is cool, but too bad it has the Toys R Us logo on the front of the machine. I can't wait to get it just so I can play with it before Santa has to wrap it up.

If anyone cares, to answer my own question, I went to the local TRU today and they would not honor this deal. They said it's an online only special (even though it doesn't state that anywhere on the site). Oh well, I ordered it online today and used the $5 off $35 coupon at Amazon and that covered the shipping anyways ($4.45 shipping). Now I just have to wait for the thing.

No big deal. They have a 45 day return policy. Just order it from amazon and then when the new one comes in then give TRU the new one along with the new mariokart and crappy accessory pack. Pretty sweet.

But anyway, since you got the blue one. Is it really as light as it looks in the picture? It looks almost like the indigo model but just a bit more blue. With a name light midnight blue it really shouldve been darker and more like navy blue.
