For those of you who may have a Virgin Megastore near you . . . I picked up a GBA from the store in Hollywood,CA on Wednesday which was on clearance. I think the color is alpine white and it was on clearance for $59. Since I have a blue card I got the additional 30% off.

Total: $41 + tax

Not sure but maybe other Virgin stores will have this same deal. Good luck!

I saw this at toys'rus over thanksgiving, the guy told me its an exclusive toys r us packages so i dont think you'll find it at virgin.. you could buy gba + mariokart. but no blue color..
at b&m its 150.. no deal there really.

This is a pretty hot deal, especially since you wont find the gba anywhere for under 89.99 (unless theres some coupon)

nice price. iwent out to virgin in anaheim and costa mesa and they are selling for $99. Virgin wont pricematch everyone else's standard price of $89 so you're not getting the full deal but after the 30% amex blue discount then its still not bad at $70. But i'd kill for one for the price you got.

Well, I checked out the store and I think you either got a killer deal or don't know the diff between a GBA and a Gameboy Color. The GBC was the one on clearance and the white GBA there is $99. I picked up an Indigo one for a Christmas Gift for $70 which is still a killer price. But they didnt have "glacier" so i have to go back to pick one up for myself.

Like i said in my earlier post. I got gba and golden sun (a game that i wanted) for aprox. $91 at virgin.
So that is indeed a better deal than amazon. I am sure u agree, since you saw my post you ran off to virgin to pick one up yourself. So next time you flame somebody. Please read the post in detail first.

Okay, I wasnt going to respond because i just have a huge problem with getting into debates with annoying little brats, but I need to at least stand up for those that really bring the hot deals to our attention. So first off, you didnt bring us the virgin 30% off deal. It was found on several boards almost 2 weeks prior to your post. So please dont take credit for the find. KTG gets the credit for posting it here on anandtech long before you. These deal finders do a great service by bringing us great finds so let them get the credit.

Secondly, you werent trying to help so don't pretend youre a humanitarian. You came in insulting a guy who was asking a question. That was the dudes first and only post on anand and you attack him? Other than exposing how desperate you are for some sort of status in life, new members that bring hot deals are alot more valuable than cocky thread-crapping old members that bring nothing. Whoa, dont get your panties in a bunch, honey. I didnt insult him, I actually made a valid statement that may be true. I also PM'd him a few days ago but he didnt respond so I just posted my statements on the board so nobody else gets the wrong idea. Anyway, the guy who got the item at discount said it was a Alpine GBA for $59. Virgin says the only GameBoy they have for $59 is the "Alpine" GBC which is on clearance. So putting that together and knowing white for GBA is called "Artic" then whats wrong with the possibility that he either got a super hot deal by accident or he actually doesnt know the difference? No big deal. So relax there sister and follow your own advice. Maybe you should read the post in detail first.

Theres the statement that soiled your underoos. Calling someone a prick and saying someone "sounded" like a prick for attacking a newbie for no reason is different. Also, the second post on this thread is by OmEv telling everyone about the Virgin Deal so dont take credit on that.

Man, this thread went downhill fast.....

Anyway, got my bundle today and had a couple of questions. It looks like mine was opened and resealed. The unit looks absolutely brand new, and the seal was a clear, round circle sticker, like the original one. Also, the game pak was installed in the machine. My guess is that they just took the Toys R Us special edition color, opened them, stuck the game in, put a sticker on the front saying it was a bundle and sent it off. Did anyone else's look like this, too?
