I got one of these a few weeks ago. It even has the code to control the inexpensive Sherwood 5.1 receiver some of us bought from Outpost.com (the one that's $79.99 in the Fry's ad every now and then). Very handy for the price.

I like mine, too. It handles my 2 VCRs, Kenwood Receiver, TV, DVD and Dish Network receiver perfectly.

If I were to order this on the website rather than B&M, do they include a reciept for the rebate, or how does the rebate work? I've never done a rebate for an onlide order before.

Would this thing be able to control my Motorola digital cable box? Not HDTV but just standard digital cable. I'm having trouble finding remotes that can do that.

I used the GE 6-in-1, also FAR this week at OM to set up my friend's Moto Digital Cable Box. It has an AT&T remote. I didn't find any codes for Moto in SAT or Cable so I tried the Code for AT&T for cable, but that didn't work. But I tried the same code with the SAT button and it work. I think the code was 501. Not sure if it'll work the 8-in-1 or not.

Does anybody know if the 8-in-1 (or the 6-in-1, if it's really free after rebates) have a closed captioning button/support for TVs? A neighbor's complaning that his current remote is on its last legs and wants to find a cheap replacement, but also needs CC function(s) since his hearing isn't too good.

I took a *really* quick swing by a store today but in the (literally) 30 seconds I was there, I didn't see see anything distinctly marked.

If you order online there is a packing slip with the order. This should have the date you placed the order on and the price. That should be good.
I know that's what I have used in the past...
