Being Polish, I'm usually offended at what supermarkets pass for kielbasa. That red smoked sausage stuff IS NOT kielbasa (Polish sausage). Real kielbasa is actually gray in color, is very tender, and has a mild black pepper/garlic taste.
Anyway, the way to make it best is to boil raw kielbasa for 45 minutes - 1 hour, let it cool, then slice it and bake it for another hour in a baking pan w/ 2 cups of water. Eat with spicy mustard or (my favorite) ketchup mixed with a dab of fresh horseradish.
Eat with some kapusta (sweet and sour cabbage), some golumpki (cabbage rolls), and maybe even some Potica (coffee cake). I made this two Sundays ago....hooo hooo hohoooooooo man
