gear s2 questions

When my wife chats with me through hangouts to my phone, even if I'm not in range, they show up on my watch also, however, I'm unable to respond to them because it just says "check phone".

Curious how my watch gets the messages forwarded to it, but I can't reply to them.

What am I not setting up properly?

I'm also looking for a standalone music player that will stream directly from the web, not through my phone. Milk Music supposedly does that, but I don't have a samsung phone, so its not an option. Any other players that do this or am I relegated to mp3s from the watch currently?

I think the samsung gear watches uses tizen OS and not android wear, so it can get in app functionality for the built in apps like the phone, messages etc. If you use a third party app like hangouts or google voice you only get notifications and not the full app functionality.

Yeah, it does use the Tizen OS, so i might have to go back to messenger then it sounds like. I'll play around with it. Thanks!

visit XDA and put android back on it? you can run it and load actual apps on it. With tizen there really is no app support and functionality is limited.

To reply to hangouts messages on gear S2 install the android wear app on your phone.

So.. i can't connect with bluetooth to our 2013 Ford Explorer sport and use handsfree while my phone is connected to my watch, yet, in the 2008 Tundra, it has no problems being synced to both. And, if I turn off bluetooth on my watch so that my phone will sync up to the Explorer, handsfree is not enabled by default? Screwy as hell...
