I unfortunately got burned on the cheap GOW4 Keys (I know, too good to be true), so I'm back to waiting for a deal haha.

Still on that "fool me once/fool me twice" mentality. GOW: UE was just AWFUL!

Game seems to perform good from everything I've read, well if you stay out of the insane settings. /shrug.

But what I need to see/read about the most is the split-screen support. Unfortunately, not finding much info on that

Well, in the updated PCGH benchmark the 480 and 1060 are very close... and these are both highly overclocked models. Pretty much the same deal with the 390 vs 970 but only the 970 is very highly overclocked. Be interesting if they provided power consumption results.

My problem is i compare GTX1070 to all cards from past i own.GTX670 was just better, same with 5850 and 8800GTS 640mb.I just dont feel i have top performance like when i oc GTX670 to 1280/7400 and it was 15% faster than GTX680.
Or when i OC 5850 to 1Ghz and it beat GTX295 dual card.
Its just not there with GTX1070.its slower than 980TI OC vs OC.980TI is almost 2years Old 28nm card and GTX1080 is another league.
The 8800GTS 640MB was significantly slower than 8800GTX and could not be over clocked to match it's performance. I know it because I owned it. You have weak memory it seems which is ironic.

OC vs OC 980Ti only matches it which means the 1070 is still the better overall card due to more VRAM and newer gen.

You are complaining about a card which is the ONLY one this gen offering a very significant upgrade for its price segment.

8800GTS was 40-60%(depends on resolution) faster than 7900GTX + it was have 30% OC headroom.Imagine 1070 is 40% faster than TITANX + have 30% OC headroom.
8800GTS 640 was milion times better card than 1070.

So after OC 8800GTS was up to 90% faster than 7900GTX and because 7900GTX was bad at OC it was still around 80% after both OC.
Today TITANX is faster than 1070 after both OC.

@Thinker_145, seeking validation much? Here's an idea, if you want to extol the GTX 1070, make your own thread rather than continuing to pollute the threads of others with your incessant need to defend your purchase it!

Both of you. Take it to PMs. Quit derailing the thread.

On topic, pity no SLI or CF support...

Yep, I've given up on expecting mGPU support in anything going forward. I've stepped down to single GPU configs, Not going to throw money at these GPU companies for no value in return in most games

I really dont like GTX1070 performance in new titles. Its always slower than 980TI and GTX1080 leads around 30-35%.
BF1
Deus ex
And now this...

980 Ti was a flagship last gen card that drew a ton of power. 1070 is a much lower cost and more efficient current gen card.

I've been putting together mITX systems lately and I now really appreciate cards that can get by on a single power connector.

Well, multi GPU support pretty much depends on games not having to share data between GPUs. So, games reusing data from past frames is basically why multi gpu is being killed off. But, in exchange we do get awesome(and cheap) temporal AA. And eventually temporal reconstruction techniques will probably become good enough that not only will it not make sense to ever turn them off, but games will use them to reproject the majority of each rendered frame, saving a huge amount of gpu time.

So, it's not all negative at least. We may not have god tier reconstruction(yet), but we have temporal AA, and when it's good it's really good(like in doom and unreal).

lol follow the thread genius. You seem genuinely hurt after the other thread it's okay it's just PC hardware no need to take it so seriously.

lol the 8800 series represented a generational leap that we have not seen since then. The point wasn't that the 1070 is better than 8800 it's not but I was just pointing out your own inconsistency in wanting higher tier performance with overclocking.

A card is judged purely by its price not by its "number".

I LOLed so hard that my boss heard it. Went to my desk and asked what is so funny at the end of the week when we are far from completing our weekly tasks.
So I showed him this post. Guy ROFLed through the office slaloming between desk right into his dungeon laughing good 5 minutes.

Your sarcasm is a top notch. Thank you for brightening our day.

I am really happy that you can find such entertainment from forum posts. Very rarely does anything I read cause me to literally "LOL", but when it does it's quite satisfying

So this game runs good. Nice. I watched some gameplay videos and it looked pretty arcade-like. It looks like something a 12 year old kid would play. It doesn't look as great as I remember the first one feeling to me. I don't know, maybe I'm too sexy for this game?

furyX have good performance..Also there is bigger gap in GTX1080 vs 1070 than TITANXP and GTX1080.Also GTX970 3.5Gb vram have impact. At 1080P GTX970 vs 980 gap is only 11%.But at 1440P its 25%.
Btw it looks like lower-end pascal cards dont benefits from dx12 like GTX1080 and TITANXp.GTX1060 is still at GTX980 level and 1070 is still at stock throttling 980TI level.

Looking forward to how this game does with SLI. Looks like it isn't needed though, but still.

"Our favorite experience was using the TITAN X on a 34″ 21:9 Acer Predator G-SYNC display at absolutely maxed out Ultra/Insane settings."

Of course it was. Ultra wide is taking over the planet. They prefer it over 4K.
This game looks a little cheesy, but who am I kidding? I will buy it, play it and love it. SLI support would make for some serious sexy time though.

With Insane settings at 3440x1400, even a Titan X isn't getting very close to 90 FPS even on average. Good way to waste the 144Hz monitor. The actual best experience would be to simply use the ultra preset.

Just bought the game and played through a few minutes of the campaign. Ran well. 70-80 fps on a 980Ti. Ultra preset 1440p

I love how they say Mgpu is coming. They have to realize that people expect this before they upgrade their GPU in another 2 years. Lets take bets on their hatred and neglect of multi GPU. I bet we don't get multi GPU support in gears for another 6 months.

Well, unreal 4 doesn't support mgpu out of the box. Probably mostly due to optimizations that reuse previous frame data. It could be a lot of work to rework or remove those(assuming they'll be using AFR). Of course, that'll also lower per gpu performance, making it look like scaling is worse than it is.

Plus, the amount of people who will only buy the game if it supports multi gpu is extremely small anyway. Not a very good reason to delay the game.

Wow look at the CPU scaling in DX12:

AMD FX 8370 versus Intel Core i7 5960X

Looks great for all cards under the Titan XP which caps ~130 fps @ 1080:

But really you'd be running that @ 1440p+ anyway at least in DSR.

That right there is the real benefit of DX12. Super old multicore processor can run just as good as brand new ones. Saves a ton in upgrade costs when you don't need the latest best single core perf anymore.

Really lowers entry price for high end machine as well and keeps those old 2600k / 8000 series working great.
