im guessing it uses C as the temp drive during installation, but otherwise you should be able to pick the destination of the game.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it does. However, I was wondering if there's a way to get past this at all. I didn't anticipate these large games when I partitioned my hard drive a few years ago so my C drive is pretty much as empty as it can get and it still won't work. Looking at the files inside the cd, it seems it has a program file folder that will probably be copied straight to the system's program files. I just want to know if there's any other registery or dll files that will be added that isn't present in that program files folder that would need to be added to get the game to work.

First time I installed it, I would get in game to the first menu but it would have no text. The menu would still "work" but I was selecting blank rectangles. I saw no specific fix for this in any of the forums/sites/newsgroups that google searched for me so I just uninstalled and re-installed. Now it runs fine, Everything maxxed out at my native resolution of 1280x1024 with 4xAA.

If all else fails try re-installing this game, and roll up a doobie to pass the 40 minutes of time it will take to install again. Cool game but the textures are still pretty simple in spots and the desaturated look is borderline black and white. I'm thinking that has a lot to do with its performance superiority over titles like Crysis.

update: I can now play at 2560x1024 resolution and it runs pretty well (>30fps). The significance of that is that GOW supports dual monitors with my 8800GT. This will do until I get my 24in LCD and not need to worry about the half inch border in the middle. But until then, it's pretty engrossing to play at such a sick resolution and the game offered other widescreen resolutions and scaled the picture accordingly if i picked any that were lower than the native res.

After playing COD4, Crysis, I don't know what the fuss was all about. I prefer Timeshift to this. More rewarding experiance.

Seriously. I'm about an hour in... if I can recover my saves... and I haven't really enjoyed any of it.
It's pretty in ways, but in others not at all - the lack of real time shadows really kills the engine to me compared to games like Crysis. It's frustratingly difficult for me at the 'medium' setting - I've never had a game do that to me at any level of difficulty.

you need to use more cover. that's the focus of the game. running in will get you owned very quickly . i still get rocked from time to time

I use cover constantly, what ends up happening is I'll have to save my teammates or whatnot (which is annoying) or worse, an AI enemy will rush me, I can't down them in time (aiming square at the head mind you), and my clip is empty when they get to me... and I die. I still haven't really gotten the hang of the chainsaw thing yet.

Reboot & Enjoy! No more "wargame-g4wlive.exe" crashes.

PS: Looks like it works on WinXP only, not on Vista. Sorry guys.
But if it helps on any system please leave some notes in this topic.

Very true. Another fuckin great M$ money grabbing attempt - after I bought that piece of shit Shadowrun and realized what a PoS M$ is in multiplayer gaming, I'd NEVER buy anything like this.

Game is "graphically pretty" fun...but man... those moments of stuttering really ruin it sometimes. I really don't like the requirement to log into windows live... and the over the shoulder view is still too freakin weird [I find myself leaning to the left while playing].
