This style of game is getting seriously played out to me. It was ground-breaking and incredible in 2006...but since the roughly 75+ games since that have emulated the third-person, over-the-shoulder, contextual cover-taking since, even Gears is getting stale.
I'll wait until its in the bargain bin.
Wait what? 3rd person over the shoulder ground breaking 2006? Yea Gears wasn't a ground breaker w/ 3rd person shooters atleast not for its over the shoulder view. I'd like you to check out some older games rofl.
Furthermore the thing that made gears groundbreaking was the significance of hop n pop gun fights and the body explosions, and making a shotgun actually require skill.
I finished the main campaign last night and thought it was really good. I'll run the aftermath section some time this weekend.
Got the game, it's really not good. Dont buy it.
thanks for that very informative opinion.
it is weird i've been checking redbox by my house and work since this game has been released, and there hasn't been 1 single copy of it in stock anywhere.
Why is that weird? I would think that most people who are interested in single player would go the redbox route because you can easily beat the campaign in one weekend rather than shelling $60 for 6-8 hours of gameplay.
Good or bad, any big name release is going to be rented like mad at redbox. The fact that you can run through the game on one rental is just more incentive to do so with this one.
