System for getting into GoW online matches quickly (from TXB):

Go to search for a custom match, and let it say searching or refreshing. Then, hit X 2-3 times. The list should pop up. If not, press X again. Select a game that is missing 2-3 people and hit A. I tried this all today and it worked everytime.

Patch coming for GoW

Ray Davis, Gears of War's Lead Programmer, announced over the weekend that Epic Games is already working on a patch to fix the connection issues Gearheads are experiencing when playing multiplayer. Under his fufu alias, Davis said:

yes, a patch is in the works to address the connection issues as well as several other bugs that have been reported. not sure on an exact eta, but it won't be long...

you do realize that the gamer PC eclipsed the 360 before it came out right?

That's what I heard from console bashers when Doom3 came out, then learned depending on what drivers you had loaded or having an ATI -vs Nvidia card that Doom3 frame rates would differ as much as 50%. Sorry, I don't have the time to screw around with that garbage.

I also heard the same drivel about Halo2 when it hit the streets, then noted that Halo2 looked a helluva lot better than most PC based FPS's at the time, and sure as hell had better production values.

heck the 8800GTX eclipsed the PS3 by Nv's own words and that the PS3 hasn't hit the shelves yet.

Again, so what. That means it will take a year and a half after the PS3 hits the streets for game coders to be able to utilize the hardware of you latest PC graphics cards, which consequently cost almost as much as a 360. At least the consoles aren't moving targets.

In any case, I played GoW over the weekend, and even though I'm not a huge FPS fan I really liked it. I wasn't as mesmerized by the Campaign mode as gamer mags were (FarCry and HL2 are far better in that respect), but the multiplayer action is incredible.

People can praise hardware all they want. The best graphics of any game released is GoW. Artistically and graphically.

John Di Maggio does the voice, and s he has done some X-Men, but he is actually the voice of Juggernaut. He is also Bender on Futurama I think he "borrowed" Wolvie's voice from Steven Jay Blum though. Both actually sound alot like the merc from The Chronicles of Riddick played by Nick Chinlund IMO. That is who I thought it was at first.

BTW, playing thorugh on hardcore now that I finished casual, and it has improved things dramatically. Glad I didn't start on it though, still getting used to aiming with sticks instead of a mouse!

I'd much rather see great games come to the PC than the console, but Ichigo is correct: there is no game on ANY platform that can compare, graphically, to Gears of War.

Yep, I already sit at a PC all day at work. It's nice to be able to relax and stretch out on a couch and play games.

So many others you can look foward too like Assassin Creed , Resident Evil 5 , Golden Axe , Ethernal Sonata , Lost Odyssey , Halo 3 , Halo War , Splinter Cell 5 , Alan Wake , Bioshock and craploads more.

Also loads of cool arcade you can try out like geometry war wars , mutant storm , mortal combat 3 , contra , cloning cilde.

I think your an idiot buying a console without doing a little bit of research , Alot of good games out , you just haven't played them since you don't know about it.

Actually I have played dead rising, table tennis, saint's row, graw, and lost planet demo. none of them really got me interested in the xbox 360.
