Geddy Lee has more talent in one of his fingers than any of this new crap we hear on the radio today. Back then, musicians had to possess TALENT which is something that is non-existing in today's recording artists.

The ignorance of this post speaks for itself.

Oh, I know. But it's still true.

Wait, which Rush song is in Rockband?

Thanks. Nice song, was played to death on the radio, far from representative of their best work, though.

Agreed. Whenever I throw in Moving Pictures, I always skip straight to Red Barchetta. A much better song IMO (and one of my favs). I'm a huge Rush fan, but I have never understood the Tom Sawyer hype.

I had a roommate who loved them, and bought a ton more. It was horrible.

Anyone who has ever heard YYZ and still think Geddy sucks seriously needs to off themselves and do the musical world a favour. Geddy is one of the best bassists of all time, and as a bonus Rush was successful. That doesn't happen anymore.

But, Sawyer has some of the best drum play in it that I've ever heard. However, Trees is my favorite Rush song and is in Rock Band 2.

Strangely, Moving Pictures is the only Rush album I *dont* have ripped and in my music library.

Shame, because now I want to hear YYZ

Vital signs and Red Barchetta are the two best songs on there.

My little brothers used to play RUSH and I hated Geddy Lees voice. It was like running your fingernails down a blackboard. Then I started to listen to the music and watched them perform and I couldn't believe what I saw. The man has more talent than the entire music industry combined.

I'd have to go with Red Barchetta followed by Limelight and Tom Sawyer. An amazing album, to be sure.

What about the voice of Geddy Lee?
How did it get so high?
I wonder if he speaks like an ordinary guy?

(I know him, and he does!)

thanks, my fact-checkin cuz

He's also been on That Metal Show a couple of times. You would never know how he sings from the sound of his voice when he talks.

well... since this is a Rush thread, the following is appropriate:

while considered modern music, Coheed and Cambria are about the next greatest thing, and often I typically enjoy Coheed more because they incorporate so many aspects of the rock genre. Love the shout out tributes they give to so many bands of the past. Coheed's 2113 is a damn fine song.

And the current band line up as a whole has a huge pool of talent. Sadly Chris Pennie didn't get to show that off on the most recent album, instead Taylor Hawkins filled in the gap from the previous drummer... and the result? Less prog aspects, unless that was the sound they wanted for the album to start with. Each album is rather unique.
