"I got a job at a brand new Best Buy in the Geek Squad, so I was there from the start. I'm not sure if they just couldn't find certified people in the area that would work for $11.05/hour or what, but I got hired without any certification. You really don't need to know much to get hired, though I do know quite a bit. You actually need to be better at selling and persuading. Fixing PCs is secondary, sadly enough. I left after ~6 months. During the interview process I was just asked basic interview questions. He asked me what PC I had. I told him it was custom and then the components. After that I got interviewed by the GM and he pretty much just asked about my PC experience. They both asked me if I had ever installed RAM before"
If you know all the major components of the modern computer and can navigate your way around XP and Vista honestly I can't imagine it being a difficult interview.

I'm 21 and there are no other "computer repair" places around here. I found a geek squad interview guide that the manager uses and it has all the questions. But has anyone taken the internal CIATA test?
Also I've been fired from a few jobs that i listed on my resume, but none for theft. Will that automatically make them turn me down? Can i say i quit since they cant technically find out?

Here's a question:
How are you with charging a customer for a new hard drive, hard drive installation, and OS installation when the problem has nothing to do with the hard drive?
If you answer "I'm fine with that", you'll get hired.
If you answer "I won't sell the customer on a new hard drive. I'll get the customer to buy a new PC with a 5 year extended warranty plan", then you'll be promoted to store manager.

Just got done with my interview. They are nothing like the questions i posted earlier. They also give you a mini A+ test which you have to score a 80% or higher on to pass and 30 mins to answer 50 questions. I unfortuneatly got a 68%. Theres a lot of stupid Norton questions and win 98 questions. He said I can still work for geek squad, i just cant touch the computers. I would be an assistant or something. Ill keep you guys updated if im hired.
