I managed a slice of pizza and a doughnut today, not much but the only things that appealed to me. Hopefully tomorrow I will eat better.

Also received an instapot air fryer lid from a group of New England ATOT members, my son is reading instructions now. Fried chicken tenders without grease sounds good to me.

Thank you very much ❤️

We got one of those instapots with an air fryer lid. It works great for tenders. Our favorite to make on it is probably tater tots, but we have used it for a bunch of different things.

I ate once today, two chicken tenders, small serving of Mac and cheese. I will have another small meal before bed. I can taste & smell but my appetite is basically kind of gone
I forget where you are, but if medical MJ is an option, it really can be a great option for stimulating appetite. If you get some RSO, you can just put it in some hot tea or something, or try a tincture. It's not all geared towards getting you high

Please forgive the unsolicited advise, but as someone who has been disabled for quite some time, there are just a couple of things I'd like to share.

I don't know if it's possible since you are currently working and have insurance. But if it is, or is likely to be, apply for Soc. Sec. Disability Insurance ASAP.

When I applied, I had a long treatment history so I was pretty much a shoo in. That should also be true for you but I have no idea what the current state of the SSA is these days. The few things I've heard have not been encouraging.

Second, this is important not just for the cash but there used to be a 2 year waiting period before you were eligible for Medicare. My guess is that's probably still true.

I can't imagine what you have and continue to go through but I admire your strength. Stay strong.

Problem is the feds don’t consider it a legal drug so my Oncologist can’t prescribe it.

What I did today was shop at Aldi via Instacart. I bought water & whatever food looked tempting to me, I ate pasta with meat & peanut butter wafers today. I will have a cherry yogurt before bed. Thanks to you lovely people ❤️

It appears that marijuana is completely legal in MASS, and I wouldn't be surprised if there isn't a cottage industry of MMJ doctors who exist solely to certify people and write prescriptions.

I get my cancer treatment at MGH, so far the oncologist have advised me to avoid things that don’t mix well with immunotherapy. Plus getting my medical certificate would be $200 not to mention the big costs of treatments from the dispensarys. Also, I want to try to continue to work if I can. RX’s for pain have to come from my doctors, not MMJ doctors.Any hospital that takes federal funds has to abide by federal rules

It doesn’t make a ot of sense but MA says it’s legal but the feds say it’s not …. so Docs working in hospitals or clinIcs that take federal funds can’t RX the stuff. I don’t think insurance covers it either so the out of pocket cost can be pretty high

That's exactly how it works here in NJ. My psychiatrist referred me to a doctor friend whom I had actually seen before since she has special dispensation from the state to prescribe pot. There are hundreds of doctors who've been approved for this and it sounds like the same thing in MA. But if your oncologist doesn't think it's a good idea, it's probably best to heed their advise.

Also, pot from a dispensary isn't cheap but it is seriously f'ing strong. I'm looking at a pack of pre-rolls and it says THCA (???) is > 23%. THC proper is 0.7%. But 1/8th oz of bud is $50-60.

edit: I'm far being expert in this stuff but my understanding is that most of the medical benies from pot come from the CBD (cannabadiol?) component of the pot and since that CAN'T get you high, I'm pretty sure it's legal everywhere.

This depends on if she is subject to drug tests by the hospital.

You do not need an Rx for MJ. You can walk right into a dispensary and buy whatever you want. The tinctures and oils are relatively inexpensive compared to other edibles and preparations. I personally go to NETA which has two locations in MA, one north of Springfield and another near Boston. I go to the Northampton location. The Wishing Well tinctures are super easy. You just put the drops directly in your mouth or a beverage of your choice. The Elevation Oil is even less expensive per mg but requires a little more effort because you need to include it in a recipe in a way that it isn't wasted while still being able to control dosage.
Obvious disclaimer: follow your doctor's advice if they think MJ is not compatible with your meds/treatment.

ROTFL

What made me think "get this girl some weed" was when you mentioned having trouble getting motivated to eat... MANY folks use weed very effectively to stimulate appetite. (and unlike use for pain there's no real controversy... EVERYONE knows about the "munchies"!)

Fully legal in Connecticut too although I have a med-card myself. (no rec sales till May 22)

Its worth getting one even if the reasons are a little sketchy just to save
the state tax's which are steep.

However the tax-savings with a medical card are significant in Mass and will be in CT as well when rec-sales start in May of '22.

Far as bud potency and price goes I've seen as high as 40% (THCA) and 34-36% is fairly common. With a medical card in CT prices range from $25 to as much as $45 per 8th/oz which for a light consumer would last for weeks.

Mass weed used to be better quality then CT but in the last year or so we've really caught up. Prices in Mass remain on the high side (lol) for rec weed though... not sure how they are on medical BUT I do know its super-easy to get a card.

Further MEDICAL stuff IS allowed to put on sale in Mass while rec is not far as I know. I will keep an eye out for Black Friday deals on getting a med-card and post if I see any. (cost was down to like $60 last year briefly and a cancer diagnosis of any kind is automatic approval)
