I see the Pallative care team tomorrow and will talk to them about the MJ issue, thank you all so much for your advice ❤ I don’t know much about medical MJ & pretty much just listened to the oncologist

PC gaming, good food and weed we got you covered lol!

Apparently since I last checked registration for Mass Med patients is now free (?) not $50! So if you can manage to duck a medical appointment fee to get the required letter you should be good to go!

What made me think "get this girl some weed" was when you mentioned having trouble getting motivated to eat... MANY folks use weed very effectively to stimulate appetite. (and unlike use for pain there's no real controversy... EVERYONE knows about the "munchies"!)
Another good appetite stimulant is Seroquel/quetiapine. It's an atypical antipsychotic but I use it (50mg) as a sleep aid. For many people it can be quite sedating but it is also well known in the AA and NA communities as causing very serious munchies - at least to the same extent as pot for me.

I usually fall asleep before the munchies kick in though.

edit: I originally started taking it for truly epic panic attacks that just laughed at any kind of benzo such as valium or ativan. So if you tend to get those, it might be worth checking out. Doses start at 25mg and go up to several hundred.

If you do end up trying it, watch out - it's easy to eat too much, like an entire box of Twinkies... box included.
What he/she/they said.

I think I figured out what THCA is. The THC in pot has to be "decarboxylated" in order to get you high and it seems that THC acid is the precursor to thc.

The decarboxylation is via heat, which will happen naturally as the pot dries but can be accelerated using heat. It doesn't have to be heat from smoking though. Oven temps also work and you can even buy devices that will do it automatically.

But definitely be careful, even smoking it since one of the metabolites of THC is about 10 times more biologically active than the actual THC.

Sorry GB, this now the marijuana thread. hahaha

I'd bought some RSO for my partner a while back, and there's still some left, so a few weeks back I put some in my morning coffee, since I wasn't going anywhere. I was hungry all. Damn. Day.
Doesn't happen with the strains of flower I use normally.

Have you tried barley "porridge"? Use hulled instead of pearled. Cook it in water and add a bit of sugar/brown sugar/ honey when it's done. Do not overcook, just cooked through so it is still a grain as opposed to a paste.

I have microscopic colitis, I have to be careful with grains and roughage. Thank you for the suggestion though.

Wow, so much info, thank you all.

Today I had non greasy chicken tenders, rice & a slice of cherry pie. Drank water. I try to eat slowly so I don’t get full too fast & get a stomach ache. I must say the cherry pie tasted good heated in the microwave. I like a lot of Aldi’s baked goods 😀
If I needed to eat, and cherry pie was one of the options that worked, I'd eat that as often as I could. It has all the four food groups, too: fruit, sugar, fat and fuck yeah!

Lost 3 more pounds. Met with Pallative careteam, said we start with topical treatment and then go forward from there. Voltaren Gel for joint pain. Gatorade to hopefully stop muscle spasms. Small but frequent meals. They also RX some sort of nasal spray to help deal with the constant runny nose.

Will be calling the eye doctor & the pulmonologist for appointments. CT scans in the next couple of weeks.

Also they said I have been doing this for a very long time & it is perfectly fine to say I am sick of this crap 😂 Oh & I am sick of this crap!

thank you for coming to my TED talk 😂

Got a lot on your plate. Hope the new treatments help out.

The Pallative care team is one of the few groups of people I can speak frankly with. People who don’t flinch when they hear the word “ death” are strangely comforting to me. When we talked about my final arrangements I told her I want to be cremated & my ashes placed in a tiny Viking boat & one of my pagan friends to use a flaming bow and arrow to set it afire. I also want plenty of beer & food & music I loved. She laughed and said “ you want a celebration of your life”, yes, yes I do ❤️

I'm not really clear on the difference between colitis and irritable bowel, but there's this over the counter remedy called IB guard and all it basically is, is the active chemical in peppermint oil. I've used it for some medication induced diarrhea and it worked like a charm. I was eating several pills a day though for it be effective. That might be a small exaggeration though.

It has the advantage of being all natural, but that doesn't mean it should not be treated as a drug. So, medical advice first.

I hope you get some relief. I guess it's nice they realize that some people can eventually reach their limit but you don't seem anywhere close to that. Still, I'm not sure how I would feel about being told that.

What they meant is that the immunotherapy drugs come with their own side effects & over time I have developed a lot of issues that make my life painful and difficult…basically it’s time to start treating these issues.

Courage is grace under fire, Jean. You most certainly qualify, as you hear, from several medical vectors at once, "INCOMING!"

Sitting here crying I am so grateful…. I can pay my insurance premiums & copays, my rent & OTC care needs. I might get an inexpensive recliner so I can sit more comfortably In the living room & stay awake more.

thank you all for blessing me ❤❤❤
