I just saw all the reviews for GeForce 2 MX. The most interesting thing I saw was that MX will consume only 4 watts! Oh yeah, and it's only 120 bucks! I'm definitely planning on getting this sucker. YEAH! I hope OEM versions are available to buy soon. Oh yeah, and which version is 120 dollars, the 16 or 32mb? I'm guessing 16, but hoping for 32!

I honestly dont know why people are getting so excited over this card, its got about the same price/performance as the Savage 2000, so what!

It gets a little more price performance than the SAvage2000, from what it looks like. It supports more features, faster frame rate, t&l, drivers that actually work. Just liek the SAvage 2000, except it doesn't suck

Well, the good thing is the drivers are always being updated and that means a lot to me. I am getting just a whee bit tired of ATI driver support. I love my TNT support though. Over 1 year old, and I can still get new drivers about once every 3 months or so. That is great service. Try to get support for a Diamond product after over a year

I hear that. I've got an extra old box running a STB Velocity TNT16MB PCI. and it's still chugging along nicely. It is nice that they keep supporting it.

Heh, at least with the GeForce2 MX, you're getting NVIDIA quality. Let's face it, the drivers for the Savage 2k blow.

According to Anand's review, $119 is expected retail price for the 32MB version. That would probably place a 16MB version (if it will exist, but I highly doubt it) at a sub-$100 price.

I don't see the ptrice performance ratio comparison. With the MX you get at or above Geforce SDR performance, T&l, dual monitor, great openGl ICD, great driver support, With the Savage you get a nice piece of hardware that runs like crap, horrible drivers, ( to T&L, or not to T&L.) So i guess it is comparable

street prices are usually lower than retail prices right? So as long as demand isn't extrememly high, the 32mb will be less than $120... right? ROCK!

it's 120 to 180, i suppose the dual head thing (keep forgetting nvidia's name for it) is closer to the $180.

I think that "dual head" feature is just totally awesome! With a card like that, I could free up a pci slot by taking out that second vid card

I can't wait for it to hit the shelves. I hear it overclocks very well. I hope they give us some good memory.

Dennil:

Your P3B-F does have AGP2x. I'm pretty sure it will automatically use AGP 2x, my old BX board did before it died on me.

Anyways, one of my old systems has a SLI setup that needs replacing, and this chiset will suit me nicely. It performs just like a GeForce SDR pretty much, and I am satisfied with that level of performance. Their Twin View things is interesting as well.

This is from Nvidia's site:

The GeForce2 MX will be available from a number of OEMs and add-in card manufacturers as early as next week.

If so..That'll be perfect because I'll be home from UK and grab one up in no time.

Before you guys start salivating over the GF2MX, for $120 or less, review Anand's review:
"The big question ends up being, how much can you pick up a 32MB GeForce2 MX for? The answer happens to be a pleasing $119 which is what NVIDIA is estimating most 32MB boards will be selling for.."

Emphasis on estimating, the two retail versions I have seen have been pegged at $149.95 and $169.95 and I am pretty sure they were the single view versions. I am confident that the GF2MX will be $120 - someday. kind of like the Voodoo 3 3000 will be $70 someday, oh, I guess that is today, or will be once I get my rebate in the mail.

You're talking about hercules and guillemont who always overprice there boards.

CL will make an MX which only costs $119 and online less than $100.

Say good bye to the savage2000's support. S3 now owns it now, with VIA soon to do so... and you think they're going to do anything about it? NO, video is NOT they're thing, except for that integrated one (PM133 or what ever they call it). Nvidia on the other hand is NOT going anywhere like that soon

Finality, I hope you are right about Creative making a Geforce 2 MX for $119. My question is when??
Until they get around to it I just have to ignore those Asus and Guillemot boards at $149 and $169. I sure hope I don't have to wait too long. I wonder if Creative will release a GF2MX before 3Dfx releases the voodoo 4?
