Geforce 2 vs AIW 7500 for Battlefeild

Hey, here is what i have:

ATI All-In-Wonder 7500 (64mb)
Geforce 2 MX 400 (64mb)

Epox 8k5a2+
256 DDR 2700 (Mushkin)
1.4 Athy @ 1.5 (166 fsb)

The problem is that Battlefeild plays like crap, its not all that bad, but i know it should be better with the 7500. DOes anyone know of problems with the 7500 and battlefeild?
The Geforce 2 playes it bout the same as the 7500, maybe better.

I know the Geforce 2 does better than the 7500 at: High Polygon Count (1 light), High Polygon Count (8 lights), and WAY better at Point Sprite, (5.4 w/Geforce 2 vs .3 w/7500)
are any of these things used in Battlefeild?

Also, any other tips you might have for me.

First off let me say i know i need more ram, 256 more is on its way.


PS. And if someone could tell me about the whole Geforce FX thing, i'm confused. Is it dead? what is the "ultra" everyone keeps talking about?

You might want to just get a geforce 4 ti4200. It will run much better than either card. More ram is good for bf1942. 512mb is good, but u should consider going to 768. The geforce FX is overkill for your system. Since your cpu will become a bottleneck. A geforce 3 or geforce 4 ti4200 should provide the best price/performance ratio for your system.

yeah i know that. I'm either going to buy a new video card soon 4200, (possibly win a 4800 at the lan this weekend ) Or sometime this summer (havent decided yet) and a new processor is in the future too.

I've played BF on several different configs(Radeon 7500le,7500retail,9000Pro,8500retail,Geforce4 mx420)one of them is a 1.33 tbird with a Radeon 7500le,the le is is most likely clocked lower than your 7500 AIW.While not the best performance I did find it very playable at 800x600 medium settings,shadows off.

It should be noticeably better performance than the G2 mx,what settings are you using?

My settings are pretty low. I know one of them is at low and one at medium. I'll gett back to experimenting when i'm done with class.

I'm still using driver version(6.13.10.6218)=good performanceWhich ones are you using?

for the 7500, i'm using the latest.

AND BTW i HATE ATI's naming conventions for their drivers. Counting down? WTF FOR?

I dont understand whay thay cant go from

v1.0 to v1.5 to v1.51, ect, ect, ect
