I don't really see why anyone would pick up a GeForce3. It is hardly any faster in today's games, and when games come out for the GeForce3, it will be a slow card. I believe Carmack stated that the GeForce3 would be able to run Doom at 30fps, 800x600 in high quality. It reminds me of people rushing out to buy the TNT2 for Quake3, only to find out that the card didn't cut it once the game came out. However, the TNT2 was a better buy, it gave a tangible increase in performance over the TNT. The Geforce does not give this compared to the Geforce2 Ultra. But then again, if you have the money...
