Tazman, you do need a better card, but if you insist on OCing that one, you'll need to enable Coolbits. It's part of nVidia's drivers, but it isn't enabled by default. The best way to do that is by downloading NVMax either from zdnet.com, or from wherever you usually download from (Cnet, etc.). NVMax allows you to enable alot of things that are usually "beyond the reach" of the normal user, like Full-screen anti-aliasing, which your card doesn't do, anyway.

This is true, rivatuner (despite the namesake) and powerstrip work for ati and nvidia cards.

Just download coolbits. And don't listen to those other guys. While the 5200 Ultra is a slow card, overclocking it will help.

It won't help that much. If you're overclocking a 5200 Ultra, you might as well look for a 5900nu or a 9800np for ~$200.

EDIT: Just use coolbits for Nvidia cards, it doesn't force a program to run in the background just to overclock.

A slow card overclocked is better than a slow card. If you get a 20-25% boost from a good overclocking video card it will make a bigger difference at lower framerates. If you 5200 Ultra is chugging down into the 20-30 fps range, those extra 5 or 6 frames will be desperately needed. If you are hammering 100 fps with a much faster card, the boost to 125 won't be needed as much.

Seems like he already has the 5200 Ultra, so I'm not sure suggesting throwing it aside and buying a new video card is a helpful solution.

This card sucks ass. Pardon my french. This card is a 2 pipeline card. What is that? Intel nevermade a two pipeline card accpet for taht card in 1998 or so. Wow, although this is quicker, 2 pipelines is still nothing. Its old technology with a new spin. We need more pipes I tell ya. Ha ahahaha

intel makes cards?

i used powerstrip to oc my 5200
it overclocked more than 20% fairly easily with active cooling and reasonable room temps

have fun
they aren't too bad of a buy to be honest

Yes, Intel does make graphics cards, but they suck and are comparable to the FX 5200 Ultra I think. I know that they suck beyond anything you will ever see. But they still own much of the market cause they suck.
