Early morning on October 28, 2007 Newegg.com had 6 versions of the 8800GT in stock to choose from by Midnight they only had two to choose from, the other four had been removed, and the two left were sold out.

As a sidenote, has anyone of you been able to resolve the stupid "driver failed but successfully recovered" error in Vista when you have a Nvidia card?

Rep told me they expect EVGA 8800GT momentarily and BFG in a couple days. In any case they will be shipped to confirmed order within 5 working days or a week.

I am as anxious as anybody about this so please post your real experience instead of spreading FUDs.

Status: online Hola all...I am sorry if this was posted elsewhere as I did not find it skimming through the posts, but I just called Frys.com and they have 200+ eVGA 8800GT's (priced at $229.99) that are being delevered today. I asked if any were going to be left over after all the back orders are filled and they said "YES". I just wanted to give everyone a heads up as I just ordered my first eVGA card since the 7600GT. Good Luck...

The first 4 reviews don't really look very good but I guess overall its not bad. Also PNY's are almost always just reference boards with very little changed. Not a brand I'd shoot for personally.

Yep. Both the EVGA and BFG 8800GTs where taken off Frys since 7AM this morning.

There will be similar $230 8800GT deals soon I'm sure. This is when patience is our wallet's friend. :beer:

Amen and listen to xenolith better to the wait a few days this is just like the 6600 cpu last year....few co's like newegg raping everyone. As stocks come in this week and next the price will come down.

I know you mean from Fry's, but I got a shipment confirmation from mwave for my KO this morning. Now, If mwave can them out the door already, then I would certainly hope that fry's would not be too far behind in getting the merchandise in, processing it, and then getting the pre-orders shipped out to customers, but who knows, right?

I have NO idea what's going on with Fry's, I called and emailed, was told two different dates, as well as the initial after-order call saying it would ship TODAY. The email I got said TODAY, the phone rep said Nov. 3rd (wth!? that's a saturday!), and my order shows backordered still. Others are being told various dates up to two weeks (what!?) from now. Anyone know how to get a supervisor there that might know the real info?

For those that live near a Fry's b&m, might want to give them a try. I was at the City of Industry location around 11 AM, and they had about 8 Evga 8800GT on the shelf, no other brand sighted.

2 solid weeks of gaming is worth $50 to some easily! If you broke that down to $/h your looking at only .50 an hour extra, def worth the price premium to some.

That's the same Fry's I usually visit. Will check them out and see what they have left in stock.

newegg has had the most consistent supply and wide range of Gt's. They still have an OC'd XFX model. And their prices are only $10-$20 more than evga's at each model's price.
