8800GT Reviews Thread - AnandTech Review:

We can expect the stock clocked 512MB 8800 GT to hit $200 at the low end. The 256MB part, which won't show up until the end of November, will hit prices below $200.

if you search google for buy.com coupons there is a 5% off coupon for existing customers, and 10% off or new customers. Got mine for $232 shipped

Thanks, really appreciate you guys help. I took the plunge with a new card for the first time in a long time.

Wonder if I did a stupid thing to replace my 7900GT.

No rebate is great for me and the 5% coupon for existing customer does work. Hope PNY is a good card.

The 8800GT is a great replacement for a 7900GT. I'm considering following the same upgrade path.

PNY video cards are usually just straight up reference design cards. Their warranty and support is supposed to be decent but no quite as good as EVGA.

I think you can be confident that it's a worthwhile upgrade since the 8800GT utterly destroys the 7900GT. The only possible downside is not knowing how good ATI's next card will be.

I have two 7900GT's in SLI mode. Will one of these cards outdo the two?

Yes, this card almost beats the 8800GTX. Take a look at the Anandtech review.

Additionally folks, please note that buy.com does not appear to have these in stock. They may not ship for days! I would hold out for a better retailer to have them in stock such as Newegg.

Ya, im sure some people dont want to read all of it, but the gist is it performs between the GTS (640 I believe) and a GTX, all for $200-$250.

While I havent kept up so much on the new AMD card, its supposedly going to be better, but I dont think weve seen any benchmarks from it yet, and im skeptical it will be.

I am personally going to wait to see what the AMD card can do, but this sure i a nice price. Though it might be better to wait and see what the XFX/eVGA cards are going for.

the evga is a flaming hot deal. It comes with free quake wars and hitman. Ive actually never owned anything other than evga so I do prefer them but they have been very good to me. I may actually grab a pair of these. I havent been a fan of going SLI but these cards are special

i have a 8800gts 320.

doesn't seem to be a big enough boost to warrant the price to switch. maybe i'll just wait for a cheap 320 and sli those?

Man.... I shouldn't have but I bit on the eVGA SuperClocked card from ncixus.com.

Now I just need to sell my 7900GS to offset some of the cost and whatever else I can scrounge up.

While true, no need to worry because you will pay through the nose. It is ATI afterall......

i got in on the ncix deal. I assumed that because it was clocked to 650 it has a better cooling solution then the other evgas. Is ncix fast with shipping?

Thanks for putting this together.
Would you please change the title (remove Frys) to reflect (without a doubt!) that this thread is about all retailers?
