8800GT at Best Buy $238. Says OOS everywhere near me and online, but it might be worth a trip to see if they have them in the store. I saw 15% off BFG video cards advertised in their ad this morning, and it has a pic of a 8800GT box but no product description or price. I also have a 10% coupon here but I think they take off from normal price($279)

good luck finding a bestbuy store with the 8800GT in stock. Called into one of the stores today and spoke to friend who's a manager there, according to the system he uses they have none in store anywhere, and nothing listed for warehouse stock. tried to get my local compusa to price match but they wouldn't as none in stock at bestbuy

Yes, it will void the warranty. EVGA is the only one that allows a third party cooler, AFAIK. 78C is kind of high, but not critically so.
I wonder if you didn't get the revised reference cooler. Compare the fan opening in this review to see if you did or not.

I use everest to monitor temps. Yeah I got the old crappy cooler. Wonder if BFG will exchange my card ;-). I took it off auto and set the fan to 55% helps allot. I just played COD4 for about an hour and my temps hung around ~73 but I also oc'ed to 720 1804 965. So far seems like a huge step up from my 7900gs sept the fan noise. I had an iceberg 5 on that one and it was dead silent.
Thanks for the info.
