The text says 5900. But in the picture it is 5800. Yea, ok. Well isn't that a good deal for a 5900? If you have the funds to pay for it.

So, what you're saying is, since you personally wouldn't pay that price for a video card, that makes it a bad deal?

If it was less than $400 for the 128MB Version, I would really look into it

This doesn't seem like too much of a deal to me. The expected price is $399.. the 256MB version is the one that is expected to come in at $500.

I should also mention that the Lynn Comp site looks pretty ghetto, but they do seem to have pretty excellent reseller ratings. They do have fewer than 20 reseller reviews in the past 6 months however.

Additionally:
Hi, sorry but we are a small company and do not have the technology for realtime inventory online. All our product pages state to email sales@lynncomp.com for availability. We do list ETA for new, not yet available products.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just my 2 cents,

I thought the ATI Radeo 9800 beat down this card when it came to the benchmarks? Therefore wouldn't it be better to put your $400 into the ATI card? I'm just remember the details from an issue of Maximum PC where they compared the two.

Beat down isn't exactly the word for it. It's actually the other way around if you read the review on this site, the FX 5900 Ultra tops the 9800 in all the tests, except Comanche.

After a long nVidia Life up to the GF3, I paid almost $400 for my All in Wonder 9700 Pro, best TV and Capture of any card I have used and teh gaming is teh win! Well worth four bills but that much for a "just" a 3D accelerator from either company is well...

The nVidia Has you!

Imagine the stink from Nvidia's camp when the ATI 9900 is announced. Nv will have to lower the MSRP.
From Warp2Search today...
Name: Radeon 9900PRO / GPU Core: R360
Clock Speed: 420Mhz (Bit of guess work there though it would seem reasonable)
Man. Process: 0.15µ (TSMC will have massively matured this by now - better high clock speed yields)
Pixel Fillrate: 3360MPixels/s

Launch prices are never a good deal, except for maybe DVDs. Do you think they are?

Sure that's with the new and improved cheating drivers. With the new 3DMark2k3 patch to disable the cheats the 9800 is back on top. And yes I realize that other benchmarks exist but I'm certain nVidia is cheating on many of those too.

Also for video games and CDs at BB. I wish I got the GBA advance during the launch also.

There is absolutely no evidence to support this claim. When Ati cheated, it wasn't across the board, it was only in 3dmark...the exact same situation. You forgot about that I guess.

$419 for a 5900 ultra is a solid deal, since this card does retail for $499. The ultra is a 256 mb card though, the site is incorrect there. The 5900 non-ultra will be the 128 card, and is supposed to run at slightly lower clock speeds I believe. That won't be out for a while though, so the one on the site should be the ultra. Btw, if you want to compare this to the 9800, make sure you do it to the 256 mb one (used in most of the benchmarks) which is found for the low low price of $508 on pricewatch. The 256 card uses different ram (not just more of it) so it does perform better that the 128.
