All this makes me wonder how ATI's 9600 will fit into all this. Faster than the 5600? They're priced equivalently.

Yeah, it should be faster. if the 5600 Ultra is really as fast as a ti4600 and a radeon 9600 is faster than a ti4600. Well, it's pretty obvious...

These look like nice cards but are they enough for me to upgrade my Ti 4200? I'm not so sure they are unless the 5600 Ultra is great with the AA and AF, but I would still prefer more speed. Guess we'll find out Monday.

Man that 5200 looks damn fine for a light-gaming mostly office work box. in a month or two you can prolly grab one of those in the bargain bin for ~$50

Even though the GeForce FX 5200s aren't being built using the more advanced .13ì process, they will still be able to hit fairly high clock speeds without generating excessive amounts of heat, because far fewer transistors are needed to build this GPU. In fact, the 5200 is comprised of "only" 45 million transistors, making it roughly 64% smaller than the 125 million transistor GeForce FX 5800! This relatively low transistor count, coupled with the fact that the more mature .15ì manufacturing process is being used, should mean NVIDIA will be able to quickly ramp up production of the GeForce FX 5200s. The low transistor count consequently results in lower over all power consumption and heat radiation as well.

BOOOO!
"Clock speeds are not the only things that differentiate the GeForce FX 5200s from the other products in the FX line-up. Obviously, with a transistor count so much lower than the GeForce FX 5800, something had to be removed from the die. In the case of the GeForce FX 5200s, the color and z-compression logic used in the Intellisample Antialiasing engine has been removed, along with four of the pixel pipelines. These measures mean less efficient use of memory bandwidth, and lower fillrates, but the performance of these cards should still be quite good, especially considering their projected price points. As you'll see later, NVIDIA is claiming performance that is twice as high as the GeForce 4 MX and Radeon 9000."

I don't really see a rush to get these early previews out on the web, as all of them have basically said the same thing and just listing specs and pictures. I see no reason for Anand to rush out a 3 page listing of features without benchmarks when he can just wait and release everything together.

Yeah..I guess by that logic he can just stop publishing everything since all the other hardware sites are carrying it aswell. He sais in his 9800Pro review that it would be posted by the end of the day...

That's not my logic at all. Time and quality is better than many of the "previews" that have all been reiterating the same information, when they could just wait a few days when they can put out actual benchmarks that mean something, or at least give a hint of whats to come.
