Question GeForce GT 730 can POST but not boot anything

I Just installed a low profile Lenovo GK208-based GeForce GT 730 in a Asus P5E-VM HDMI motherboard and the system POSTs but once it tries to boot from literally anything, it gets stuck at a blank screen. I can turn the system off normally; no hard shutdown required. But the system will not boot any media with the card installed. The card works fine in another old AMD 785G based motherboard. I thought it might have something to do with PCIE 1.1 compatibility issues, but I have a Radeon 8570 (R7 240 basically) that works fine in the board. Both cards use x8; however, the Radeon uses only the first few pins along the connector whereas the GeForce has it's connections dispersed across the entire connector. No idea if any of that matters; it shouldn't. The only other thing I can think of is that this board has issues with "high" VRAM cards. The GeForce has 2GiB of RAM which is double the Radeon's.

Really would like to know what is going on here...

I can't imagine anything you've done wrong. When your PC POSTs, how many beeps do you hear? A successful POST means that you'll only hear one beep, but more than one beep means something is wrong. What kind of PSU power supply unit) do you have? You mention a low profile Lenovo, so I imagine that the PSU is small in size and your problem may be that your GT 730 may be starved for power. Examine the gpu's minimum requirements because your PSU might not be powerful enough. Good luck and please let us know how you resolve this because you will. Thank you.

System does indeed POST with the usual single beep. I can get into the BIOS configuration and it all works, but as soon as I try to boot anything, regardless of OS or media, the system gets stuck at a blank screen. I should also mention this is all happening via DisplayPort which I know can be weird sometimes so I'm going to try DVI/HDMI later.

So I figured it out. DisplayPort was/is the problem. For whatever reason the card does not like newer DP monitors and it worked as soon as I used a passive DP to DVI adapter. I remember a few years back there being a firmware update for Maxwell and Pascal GPUs for the same issue. Was there ever an update for Kepler?
