I don't know how to express how useless that is without breaking the rules.look at those numbers. when you take out the outliners, what do you see? 480 = 980. GG no re

Geforce GTX 1060 Thread: July 19 Launch (NDA July 7) - faster than RX 480, 120W, $249
LOL why would you take out the outliers? Oh, and also, why...... Are they outliers? Why isnt the outlier Hitman? Just curious.
If that leak pcper reported on http://www.pcper.com/reviews/Graphics-Cards/NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX-1060-Preview-Pascal-GP106
Is correct, I think 1060 will be on par with rx480 in terms of performance. 980 looks faster than both by a similar margin.. with AMD already testing a driver which would close the gap.
980 is 6.4% faster than 1060 and 9% faster than rx480.. with this new driver giving AMD another 3% perf. So it should be pretty interesting, I expect them to trade the blows, with rx480 gaining in the future with more DX12 titles slated to come out.

If you were wondering how GTX 1060 looks under the hood, look no further. It is now confirmed that GTX 1060 utilizes Pascal GP106 GPU, which is definitely smaller than GP104. What’s interesting here is lack of two memory modules on the board. It looks like there is enough space for 10 modules, meanwhile only 6 are installed on the board (6GB). Does it mean GP106 board supports up to 8GB frame buffer? Maybe the same board will be used for Quadro variants?
The difference is Gainward GTX1060 gale use 4 + 1 phase power supply, Gainward GTX1060 Herd with 3 + 1 phase power supply.
www.computerbase.de/2016-07/geforce-gtx-1060-gigabyte-inno3d-msi/Inno3D goes directly to clock information the way a little bit upwards. So the models GeForce GTX 1060 Gaming OC X2 and GeForce GTX 1060 iCHILL X3 work with a boost clock of 1,784 MHz (+76 MHz), the GDDR5 memory is on effective 8.2 GHz overclocked (Reference 8 GHz).
The GTX 1060 G1 GAMING is forged with the top-notch GPU cores through GIGABYTE’s very own GPU Gauntlet Sorting technology, pushing overclocking capability to the limit without compromising the system reliability. Stepping up from the reference’s 3+1 power phases, the 6+1 phase design on the GTX 1060 G1 GAMING makes the MOSFET working at a lower temperature to provide more stable voltage output for superior overclocking.
Just wow!!!I hope it will beat reference 980ti. Also, would be nice if it showed nice OC scaling, not like other Pascal GPUs

Hmm nice,

If performance is a bit better than a 480 I wouldn't expect nvidia to release it at a lower price.Pricing doesn't look good. I was expecting a more aggressive pricing approach against the rx480. So far it looks like a 390 vs 970 all over again, but this time at a lower performance point.

What reason is there for AIB's or even retailers to sell their cards at the MSRP (Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price).
notice the plural. I expect a correction post from youLOL why would you take out the outliers? Oh, and also, why...... Are they outliers? Why isnt the outlier Hitman? Just curious.
Once prices and supply settle to what they are supposed to be, and we have good AIB selection, this is gonna be a great time for the mainstream 1080p gaming market.
$200 RX 480 4GB
$250 GTX 1060 6GB
(The $240 RX 480 8GB will be left in an awkward spot once prices settle)
290X/780Ti performance for $200. 980/390X performance for $250. Definitely not game over for the 480, since a $50 price increase is not insignificant to those with a tight budget especially when it's a 25% increase. Both cards seem very viable at these two price points, although historically neither are impressive and both look to lag behind the 1070 by quite a lot leaving room for another card.
FE = overpriced product. I'm sure that every forum poster knows this. It's a lie(let's call it marketing) meant to rip off the uninformed nvidia customer base and taking a big ... on what MSRP means. AIB's could not care about this since there's a probability that they knew about this tactic in advance. They will just increase the price. It's a win-win and the less informed customer gets ripped off. What reason is there for AIB's or even retailers to sell their cards at the MSRP (Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price) when they know there is another card out there selling for the founders edition price. That's leaving money on the table, and these aren't your friends, they're businesses, both the retailers and Card Partners. If stocks are low I too expect the 3rd party cards to start at $299. I'd love to be wrong but I doubt I will be.
This dual pricing has really done a wallop on the public perception. Kudos to nVidia succesfully FE'ing the public.
IMO, I think the RX 480 8GB will actually do fairly well even at its price due to the volume of ignorant buyers who pick cards thinking "More GB = Better Card." Now, I don't think it will do better than the 1060, because the xx60 brand is very strong.
