Both of those systems look great. I use a Metro DataVac on mine every few weeks to keep the dust out (I'm a bit of a neat freak).

I'm probably going to be 2-Way SLI from now on, so 4K is the max for me. I moved the PC into my living room to do gaming on a new 70" 4K TV with new speaker system. It works really well. Probably going to keep it like this for a while.

Looks like a Corsair 900d? I have the same case, so much room to do pretty much anything

Looking good!

FWIW, beyond 2-Way is a PITA and unless you're willing to tweak every game/program you want it to work, it's not fun. And not all games work with >2 Way anyway.

I'm going to be streaming on the 1080 Ti rig in a few mins here. Feel free to join me.

Finally picked up 2 1080 ti cards. Water blocks are next on the list. No clue how long Nvidia takes to ship the cards.

Nvidia is truly in a league of its own. They have still not needed to launch a fully enabled GP102. Thats the extent of dominance they have in the high performance segment as AMD is basically missing in action. AMD's last really competitive high end GPU was R9 290X/ R9 290. Fiji was a massive failure and more of a proof of concept / learning vehicle for HBM with not much volume availability and unimpressive perf/$ especially against custom 980 Ti OC. I hope AMD can bring an impressive product to market with Vega. But I am not confident that Nvidia will be truly challenged. Nvidia is a textbook case of a well run and extremely aggressive high tech company. Nvidia's key strength is it predicts computing trends well before anybody has a clue. CUDA, GPU accelerated computing, Deep learning, Machine intelligence, Automated driving. Nvidia has always been ahead of the curve. Its impressive to see this tech giant execute flawlessly. Volta is going to just strengthen Nvidia's dominance in GPU and HPC.

Looks like this blizzard has delayed the FedEx delivery by one more day, sheesh.

Well, I couldn't resist, and I ended up picking one up from Nvidia this morning. I also snagged one of EVGA's 1080/1070 AIO kits. Now, I get to have fun sitting here watching the order status as it sits at Processing.

Should I wait for the Aftermarket GTX 1080 Ti's before I decide if I want to go with a Founder's Edition GTX 1080 Ti card? I can wait a month more before upgrading from my GTX 780 Ti. Also should I get a 4k monitor before upgrading to a GTX 1080 Ti?

Finally got the rig built. 1080ti with EK block working good. Thank god I didn't brick anything. For those who don't know, you will need a small hex socket wrench to remove the screws that hold the stock fan on the 1080ti. 5/32" is the right size. Don't use pliers. You'll slip and frag the tiny components on the back of the PCB.

Unless you're in a rush to get it, I don't see why you wouldn't go with a FAR superior cooling option?

You don't need a 4K monitor to get a 1080Ti. Just get a 4K monitor when you want one.

It's an app I use on my smartphone. It's groups all forums you are a part off into 1 spot. This makes it easy to reply back or follow threads instead of navigating to multiple websites.

You know phones use tab browsing right? No need to navigate websites. You can even bunch them up. I send from Nexus P as well

Well, so far its currently sitting here at 2114 like it doesn't even care. We'll see which games it can tolerate at these clocks. Memory seems a little more finicky. Had it somewhere around 11.9ghz backed down to 11.6 and stable now. That core is just screaming along though and not budging off 2114 for a second, lol. 38-40c though.
This card surprised me. Its running stable at over 2100 with no voltage or power mods. Firestrike causes it to fluctuate between 2038-2114, but in games it seems to just lock in at the full 2114 and stay there. This card is pretty psycho. You can see my OC of +225 core/ +300 mem.

EDIT: Yep, BF1 is jammed solid at 2114. GPU speed doesn't fluctuate. The AIB cards are going to be amazing.

This was the same deal with the 1080 Founders edition as well. Dumbest thing I've ever seen. Worst part is Ek actually says you can remove them with pliers (at your own risk).

Both TPU and Hexus showing a 50W increase in the aftermarket cards for about a 3-5% raw performance increase. Worse performance per watt than FE.

The 1080 Ti FE also is about 25W over the TXP for a 2-3% performance increase.I think the TXP hit the maximum sweet spot in efficiency with its clocks. Just something to keep in mind for aggressive OCing.

This was not the case with the 980 Ti. Asus 980 Ti Strix, for example, added 25W average over reference but delivered a staggering 16% performance increase and superior performance per watt.

So far, not seeing the holy grail in aftermarket that the 980 Ti was. Obviously aftermarket cards are better just from noise and temperature alone and you could underclock if you wanted lower wattage and power, just taking note here that the 1080 Ti story is different this time.

I am thinking about picking up 1080 FTW or something for about $540. I don't think I could stomach $200 extra for an aftermarket 1080ti. I only game at 1440p. Also trying to decide if its worth upgrading over my OCed 980ti.

Any secrets on how to score one? Every time I look around, they are all sold out.

I wasn't seriously looking or anything, but I had left NowInStock open in a tab, and I saw that Nvidia's store had them in stock. What's even crazier is that I was debating whether to buy it for like half an hour, which I think was just me hoping that they'd go out of stock, and I'd just say, "Ah, shucks! Guess I can't buy it now!" However, they just never went out of stock. I think they had them in stock for around 2-3 hours where B&H Photo was out of the EVGA model, which I wanted more, after about 5 minutes.

EDIT:

Here's the site, and as of writing, Newegg has had the MSI ones in stock for 3 minutes.

Learn something new everyday. Used the link and found one on Newegg.com and it will be here Friday. Decided to do the FE route this time and custom cooling down the road.

The techpowerup article has the Asus ROG Strix GTX 1080 Ti unable to OC as high as the FE edition. Ouch. Was hoping that removing thermal limits was going to give it some legs. At least the price is right at only a $40.- markup over the FE. It's quieter and cooler, just not faster.
