Stock graphics settings for this one is 2037 MHz and 5616Mhz on memory. This is with the stock gpu clock at 1721.

It sucks to hear about your card man. I tried many times to order that card myself from Newegg, but every single time it was out of stock. Given your problems, it's probably a good thing I never got a hold of it.

I sent the card back today. Newegg will send me a replacement if they have it in stock. If not, I think I will get a refund. There are also reports of the Auros graphics engine software hogging up cpu and not enabling the fans on the card unless it was closed and reopened.. and causing problems with the card. I read about this in the auros forums. Not sure where Auros came from out of Gigabyte, was part of it outsourced?

The card itself is massive and heavy. It does have a bit of sag but my mobo has plastic shroud around it so its not so noticeable. I was expecting a more premium build but it felt very heavy yet cheap, with plastic feeling flimsy around it. I worried I was going to snap it taking it out of the bag. Hopefully the next one I get, if one comes in stock by this week, won't be this way. But it feels like its more of a firmware or software problem or some bug, or it could just be a bad one.

There's already 2 reviews on newegg with the same issues, and 2 threads on Reddit with about 5-6 or more people that had to RMA it for the same problems I noticed.

If you have quiet case fans it can be an issue (my case uses 700rpm Noctuas). The EVGA Hybrid kit fan runs at full speed (2000 rpm+) and has no manual fan control. You have to buy a fan controller (which I did) to throttle the noise down.

I use a Corsair SP120, it is definitely not running at full speed. Again my kit runs quieter than my case fans, which are stock Corsair AF140s at low voltage. Only thing I hear from my rig are the case fans. Even the ML140s on my H110 are quiet. They run at ~900 RPMs.

Also EVGA did some monkeying with the second version of the kit. The fan runs even less aggressive which was noted by some reviewers, like Jayz2Cents. He went as far as to connect the fans to his MoBo if I remember right to make them spin faster to improve cooling.

If you get a refund, just get a Founder's Edition. It's the same price as MSRP and it'll "just work." Of course cooling performance isn't as good as the fancy AIB stuff, though.

Is the founders edition loud? I know Capt caveman got the same card and was wondering how his will turn out. I think he mentioned his will arrive today.

UPS still shows that I dropped off my package Saturday so hopefully it gets moving soon. Chances are very unlikely that there will be stock when it gets to Newegg.

Looks like I won't know until next week so I may be stuck without a gpu for a few weeks. If Newegg allowed returns I would have ordered another card this weekend right after I dropped mine off at UPS.

I actually highly recommend against the Fe version. The cooler is a POS and yes can get loud. Also, forget about getting any kind of decent overclock on it as you will throttle. Just wait for your replacement from Newegg. My two cents.

Yes it is loud, look at any review covering the Titan X(Pascal), all reviews who reviewed the 1080 Ti but didn't do data said it 99% the same as the Titan X(Pascal) cooler as far as temps / noise goes.

I was never a big fan of the stock model gpu's. I will wait and see what happens...Most likely will get a refund. I wonder if anyone else on these forums bought the gigabyte xtreme edition and how it turned out. Some reviews said it was the best model so that's why I went for it.

I got the FE version only because I was going to replace it with a waterblock. Otherwise, the FE cards are just horrible (from a cooling aspect) especially when you're paying top dollar for it.

I too would not recommend a FE unless the user needed it for a specific reason. I went with an FE because I got screwed waiting for EVGA to put out a Hybrid 1080 (almost 2 months wait.) After seeing that the original EVGA hybrid kit worked on the Titan X-Pascal, I knew it would also work on the 1080 Ti. So outside of 1 day with the ref cooler on just to bench the card, I removed it and put my Hybrid kit on.

Also sucks to see EVGA basically milking their buyers. Original EVGA hybrid kit launched for $100, and saw price cuts down to $70, and then discontinued for the first few weeks were as cheap as $40. Now its $160!? Woof. I feel like Corsair got too much flack with their H10 brackets that they basically said screw it and only sell the MSI combo Hyrdo models.

Yea I've heard the FE editions are easiest to get if you want compatibility to run them on water. That's too much work for me, or I'm just too lazy to do so since I only overclock to benching the cards.

90% of the time I'm running stock overclocks or stock by itself.

But I will say for build quality EVGA wins in my opinion. My 1070 ftw felt like a tank, material wise..It just showed premium compared to the auros Xtreme build quality.

I mostly go with EVGA because they're one of the few companies that honors the warranty past the original owner. If you're a serial upgrader, that's really helpful, because it adds intrinsic value to your card when you go to sell it. My 980 Ti still has two years left on its warranty, and you know I'd mention that in an eBay auction!

I'd say just wait for an EVGA iCX-based 1080 Ti.

It's only $120 on EVGA's website.

I've never had to deal with EVGA customer service but I heard nothing but good things from them which was the deciding factor last time I bought a card.

I don't think I want to wait until May on Intel graphics. I want to use half of my PC as an expirament for hackingtosh and it's easier to install and configure with an Nvidia card.

UPS hasn't updated tracking on the gigabyte I sent back to Newegg since Saturday morning..Still says it's at the ups store. Hopefully nothing odd happened that would cause me to wait longer than 2 weeks.

Sounds good, looking forward to hearing about your results. Mine should arrive at Newegg Friday. Hopefully they can process my refund Saturday if they work that day or at least let me know what they are going to do because I want to start shopping for another card as soon as I find out.

Sneaky sneaky of EVGA. I used the price someone else linked in another thread and it appears the Titan Xp/1080 Ti version of the kit is $160. Looking at the images I don't see where the extra $40 goes. I do wish EVGA would sell just the shroud like they did for the original Hybrid kit at launch.

Ah, so they made a new version. I'm guessing the only difference is that the $10 shroud now fits the 1080 Ti unlike the 1070/1080 version.

I guess if you want to stick it to EVGA, you could buy NZXT's new GPU bracket, and use whatever cooler you want. With that, you'd have the advantage of being able to use whatever cooler you want including a 240mm one, and if yours is noisy like mine, you can just return the cooler.

I have the Kraken G10 and unfortunately do to bad info on Microcenter's website, it actually doesn't work with some coolers. My two spare Corsair Hydros H50 V1 and H60 are both not compatible with the Kraken G10 and it looks like they won't be compatible with the G12. I was going to go with the Corsair equivalent called the HG10 but Corsair dropped the ball on it so bad that I ended up with the EVGA Hybrid Kit while waiting for the HG10 bracket.

I don't mind dealing with EVGA but $40 more if the change is just the shroud is a complete robbery!

Didn't know about that one. Here is what I got.. stock clocks though because if I use any of the other modes I'm sure it will crash.

Finally installed my card and in OC Mode, got this result. I updated the bios to F4 Final(hated the lack of instructions on how to update it). Note, I haven't even uninstalled the AMD Drivers from my pc. Also, my old card a Sapphire Fury Nitro was a much bigger card than this one.

Not sure what's going on but there are two Bios available on the Auros site. I tried f3 and the benches would still fail after a few moments. Then I tried the F4 Beta and this one seems ok. Also the card has 3 modes.. silent, OC mode, and Gaming mode. I tried all of these 3 modes before the F4 Bios update and heaven still said unexpected error has occurred and program closes, 3D mark again would say test cancelled by user. But on the F4 Beta bios I was able to run Firestrike and Heaven 4.0 to get some scores. It gets to about a max of 70C in heaven while benching. I kept the Active Fan profile on rather than the Semi active which stops the fans. Idle temps are around 39-41C.

I don't know if its "fixed" or what but I also uninstalled the Auros software and reinstalled the Nvidia drivers but I did all this before updating to the beta bios. I may still contact Newegg tomorrow and ask to return it, well I can't return it..but for another one as that's their policy.

Am I CPU limited? Also, uninstalled my AMD drivers and rebooted. Played BF1 and had blue and red streaks across the screen when I oc'd my Overlord Tempest 1440p monitor to 120hz at Ultra settings. Didn't have this issue with my Fury Nitro at 120hz at Med/Low settings

I've owned both revisions, and the second is slightly quieter, but not by much. As far as Jay, that guy is completely deaf and always chases performance over acoustics, haha. His buddy Barnacles is the audiophile who actually cares about noise.

I've never messed with overclocking monitors but I don't think that would be an issue. Did you run any tests before updating the bios to the beta F4?

Looks to me like it would be your CPU that could be causing some sort of bottleneck. I'd imagine our scores to be similar.

Actually I'd expect your score to be higher than mine because my card was completely unstable in OC mode. Those benches I posted were done in regular mode or Game mode, their stock setting out the box. Mine would not even run any bench on the OC mode clocks or if I manually set the clock myself to match the OC mode, or close to it heaven and 3dmark would crash.

But it looks like your card works in all modes which is how it should be. Have you tried setting the voltage slider all the way up and increasing power limit to 120 or 125?

Then again I've also been doing some more research on this card and I've read on Reddit and a few other threads like on overclockers that even in OC mode some users only got an increase of about 10fps or so.

I would download DDU and use that to uninstall your Nvidia drivers as well as your AMD drivers. That tool wipes any trace of all drivers on your PC so long as you use it in safe mode.

Other than that I think you have a proper working card.

Also I did notice the gigabyte auros software used to change modes and led colors is buggy. Keep an eye out on your CPU usage while the app is running and while you are playing a game or benching. It has a tendency to use up to 13-18% extra CPU while it's running.

Mine also was not activating the fans properly so I could not use the semi active fan setting if I didn't want crashes. So the software itself is very buggy. Keep an eye on it for the next few days and see if your card remains stable.

Not true. I have the EVGA FE version, with default fan curve, yes it will throttle a bit and but with custom fan curve it overclocks just fine without throttling normally 60-70% fan speed and the card runs constant 1924-1987 at 100% load and over 2GHz at lesser loading scenarios.

It is indeed LOUD, but I am using headphones so I don't notice it at all while gaming, although I may do EVGA step-up for a custom one, or just use it as it is, the noise isn't bothering me at this point, I don't want to pay another $100 for the hybrid cooler for minimal performance boost.

I'm considering this one if Newegg refunds me instead for my RMA because I'm sure the card I had will still be out of stock.

Today I got a notification for the strix oc edition but it was sold out as soon as I launched the page.
