Yes but that's good enough for me for now. Having decent 4k performance.

Gaming at 4k or doing anything at 4k is far better than any of the resolutions out. I'll be happy when 8k is viable, but 4k is great right now.

Next gen would be very exciting, but the next flagship for 4k gaming is 2019. So you really don't have a choice anyway might as well enjoy this card.

Very true, when I was shopping for monitors a year or so ago I wanted to go 1440p/>60hz because I figured 4k wasn't going to be truly cracked this go-around. In addition I just wanted high FPS back (missed it from my old 1050p 120hz monitor). Targetted the 1080gtx based on that and got a good deal on it a while back based on my monitor's res/fps requirements, and not let down.

If i was targetting 4k @60 I'd def get a 1080ti with the intention of OCing it, but I would be accepting that I'd need to tone down a few settings in a few games, that number increasing as time goes on, if I wanted to maintain 60fps.

I was thinking if I should get this card. I've had my 1070 ftw for a couple of months now. Wasn't really planning on any upgrades. But the 1070 should last me until 2019.

I had the same 1070 card, but it wasn't sufficient for 1440p @ 144hz gaming. Couldn't see it lasting to 2019 unless games stayed stagnant.

I think its fine for me at that resolution. I'm not looking for 144hz all the time. I mainly just crank settings to the highest or leave it at whatever the game defualts to (most of the time it's already on the highest ) and play. If I see slowdown or stutter, then I think about upgrading.

Witcher, bf 1, Titanfall 2 have been fine so far.

If anything I'd want the 1080ti ftw edition and that will be a while anyway.

I kept my 7970ghz for well over 2 years before I gave it to my younger brother.

I don't understand why people complain about no back plates on cards? They seem to be listing things that happen without that are just flaws with the card itself and not backplate that need to RMA cards.

After having these 1080 Ti's for a few weeks, I can definitively say they are perceptibly faster than the Titan XP's at 4K or below and damn close even at 5K. Beyond that, however, that extra 1GB of VRAM helps and the Titan XP holds its own - at 4K Surround or 8K.

Just checked for the ftw edition, it's back on auto notify. Either way I'd hate to deal with having to sell my current card.

A second batch of EVGA 1080 Ti SC2s and FTW3s are now available for pre-order.
I saw someone post on a group I'm apart off on Facebook that his EVGA ftw3 preorder won't ship until mid May

Was able to get 300 + shipping for mine.
Yea considering when I last checked Newegg it was $400 or around there, that's reasonable. I'm going to try and pre order a ftw edition. I'll probably put mine up for sale here on the forums. Barely overclocked it at all and it's only like 3-4 months old.

I put myself on the auto notify list for the ftw3 edition. There is also the ftw elite edition which I don't see a difference.

Yeah, I saw somewhere that the first batch of 1080ti FTW cards were for May 1st ship date, and this 2nd batch were for May 8th.

I thought that was pretty reasonable considering it was not the ICX version and I got 8 months of use out of it. Also comparing to the ICX trade-in program with EVGA, I actually did a little better than that program and didn't have the large down-time between shipping cards back and forth.

I didn't even see the ftw on the step up program from EVGA. Guess it's limited to their standard and Fe editions only.

Recommend following @TeamEVGA on twitter, that's where they notify first of pre-order availability. The auto-notify emails are always delayed.

Only versions using the reference PCB are part of the step up program but even the SC edition may not become available to later.

Yup I just logged into my Twitter since the longest time ever and set up notification alerts from them. All auto notify emails have been delayed, didn't matter where they came from.

I snagged the MSI armor just now..but something strange happened, i got charged for it, but instead of making Ghost Recon a free gift, it deducted its price off the card. So instead of $700, i got charged $650..plus i get the game anyways. lol
Dang, i missed the availability by a couple minutes . Nice though

Read a couple Asus Strix reviews and the card topped out at about 2030mhz OC despite being only 65-70c under load and all the fancy extra power features etc. Maybe there is a way to get more out of those cards, or maybe there isn't. Not sure. Geeze I feel STOKED to have scored a 2100+mhz founders, lol. Super stroked. Been tearing through the Titanfall 2 campaign and man that game is impressing the daylights out of me really.

If I was a person who decided to buy a GTX 1070... lol.... I'd buy a GTX 1080Ti....

If you can afford a GTX 1080Ti... (Which to me means you can also afford a Gsync monitor. Adaptive sync is required moving forward. Just upgrade already to anyone reading this.) you should do it.

If Nvidia can do this for a third time in a row with Volta, then I will be thoroughly impressed. Either way, it's undeniable right now that the 980Ti and now 1080Ti have been extremely impressive cards. The 980Ti for just being a monster, and the 1080Ti for briniging 4K that much closer to a reality (which is important... Because 8k is coming soon and we need GPUs powerful enough for 8k now guys.)

You'll lose $20-30.

You'll gain greatness, isn't that worth it?

I do have a gsync monitor. I like the 1070 for 1440p and I've had zero issues with it. But too bad the preorders are all sold out on the ftw3 model.

I think there is still some throttling going on at those temperatures. Would be curious to see if someone throws a waterblock on them in the future to see their full potential. Either way, I'm pretty happy as well with my FE. Kicks ass in most games at 4k if a few settings are turned down.

I'm loving this card so far. After overclocking it's pretty much double my Fury X. I've got it running at a 24x7 overclock of 2050mhz undervolted to 1.031v. The lower volts keeps it under the 120% TDP 100% of the time so the clock stays solid at 2050. I slapped an EVGA Hybrid on it with two Corsair SP120's in push/pull and it keeps it at 49c or lower.
