I really wanted a gigabyte waterforce since this one still has a blower fan as well. I've never heard it come on though, so it's all good.

Since there still hasn't been an announcement of a waterforce 1080ti, I got tired of waiting.

Ugh, uninstalled the AMD drivers with DDU then oc'd to 2000mhz and only got this in Firestrike. Going uninstall and reinstall the Nvidia drivers. The only good thing is with the fans at 100%(not very loud), temps reached only 51c.

Have you thought about OCing that 3770K? You should be able to hit 4.1-4.3GHz without even voltage tweaks.

Yeah, I'll try tomorrow. But I actually am hoping to have the time this weekend to build out a Ryzen 1700 and oc it to 3.8-4.0ghz

Just played a few rounds of BF1 and in Ultra setting only getting around 70fps. Changed it to Auto and set everything to Medium. And even after uninstalling/reinstalling everything, when I try to oc my monitor to 120hz, still get blue and red streaks which I did not have using my Fury Nitro. Had to drop it to 110hz to have the streaks disappear.

Those scores seem better. Looks like your card should be able to overclock some more too. If you can get +275 on the GPU clock and it doesn't cause you issues, that just means my card was bad. Mine would crash if I set it to +25.

There seems to be a cpu bottleneck. When I launched bf1 everything was set to ultra as default settings. I didn't measure my fps because I was more concerned with the weird behaviour of my card.

Try the card in your the ryzen build, I'm sure you will get better performance.

Ugh, oc'd my 3770k to 4.3ghz and oc'd the 1080 ti to 2ghz and still much 4lower results than what others are getting in reviews. BF1 in Auto, it's now doing High settings.

I've never had to deal with EVGA customer service but I heard nothing but good things from them which was the deciding factor last time I bought a card.

I don't think I want to wait until May on Intel graphics. I want to use half of my PC as an expirament for hackingtosh and it's easier to install and configure with an Nvidia card.

UPS hasn't updated tracking on the gigabyte I sent back to Newegg since Saturday morning..Still says it's at the ups store. Hopefully nothing odd happened that would cause me to wait longer than 2 weeks.

The one time I had an issue with an EVGA card, customer service made a warranty exception & took care of it, even though, technically, they didn't have to. This was back during the TR / KR warranty fiasco several years ago. My next GPU will be an EVGA product.

That still looks odd to me. Not sure where the issue is coming from. My BF 1 settings were all set to ultra by default. Also my CPU is not overclocked. Maybe the card isn't binned as well as others?

I'd rather have a stable one though. Curious what will happen with my RMA.

Your firestrike graphics subsection score is within what is likely the margin of error to mine. Mine is only 500 higher. My overall score is higher, but that would be expected due to using a 6700k vs a 3770k

Newegg received my RMA today and it says on their status page that I'll be issued a refund.

Had to contact Newegg so that they would also refund the $9.99 shipping and the game codes as I have not used them.

Looks like I am cardless now. Will have to set up nowinstock text alerts to try and get something else.

I'm guessing you know this, but there might be a person reading who doesn't:

"Upgrading" an OCd 3770K to an OCd Ryzen 1700 probably isn't going to raise your gaming scores. (like Firestrike)
Will do good stuff for your productivity apps though, and support AMD. (which is worth doing, they improved a lot with Ryzen to become a viable high res gaming solution)

Looks like the Asus strix model is available. I'm thinking I should wait for the strix OC edition to be available but I've never been able to see it in stock.

Also it seems when I click on a nowinstock text on my phone and choose to open the link with the Newegg mobile app, it doesn't open up to the product page at all.

Yeah, for productivity Ryzen is just awesome. I got a 1700 for my headless Plex server to handle all the transcoding and ripping of files. Can't beat the price/perf for those kind of tasks.

Quick question is the founders edition card a good purchase? My main monitor is 1440p but my tv on the other hand is 4k so I'm thinking the extra performance would be worth it over my current 980ti. The founders edition just looks abit more appealing to me but keep in mind I'm well aware of the positives of custom cards. What do think I should do in terms of going founders or aftermarket?

Pretty much any 1080ti should do you good for 4k. If you don't mind the noise from an FE or you are planning to run it on water, then go ahead.

This is the first time I ordered a new card from the high end series that I had to return because it was faulty but that can happen to anyone I suppose. Can't really say which aftermarket card is better. If EVGA editions were shipping out I would say go with one of those.

My EVGA reference 1080ti is solid at 2.1. Haven't been able to crash it at 2.1 so maybe that sais something about EVGA being good? Probably just luck though.

Finally built my Ryzen 1700, at stock cpu settings and the xtreme in oc mode, I got 19035. Ugh! But I just oc'd the cpu to 3.7ghz and got this:

Dumb question, does it matter if I run Firestrike on a 1440p monitor compared to a 1080p monitor? Nvm, just switched from my 1440p as my main monitor to my 3rd monitor which is 1080p and got 21232.

It's late. Will reinstall everything tomorrow. Be interesting to see how BF1 plays now. Still haven't canceled my EVGA FTW3 pre-order. Be interesting to see how that scores.

Have you tried Witcher 3? I find it really hard to hold a solid overclock in that game. My 1080 Ti can do ~2100 MHz with Frostbyte (BF1, Battlefront, Mass Effect Andromeda) and CryEngine games with no issues (Crysis 3, Rome) but won't go above 1987MHz no matter what with Witcher 3, it will just crash above that after 5 mins or so of riding around on horseback.

Every card I've had (980 Ti, Titan X Maxwell, Titan X Pascal, 1080 Ti, GTX 980, etc) have all consistently overclocked about 100MHz lower on the Witcher 3 compared to any other games. Not sure what that game is stressing but every card I've owned can't hold a high overclock on it.

That looks better, I think it's higher than what I got when I had that card.

I had a chance to preorder the ftw3 again yesterday but decided not to thinking one of the other cards will come in stock.

I'm curious too how Witcher 3 will perform. I think you will get all ultra defaults now in bf1.

Yea I have no desire to put it under water and then when I look at the custom cards they are so huge. Also I don't know but every custom card I have run hotter than they are supposed to but that could be chalked up to using inferior case fans. Then again places like microcenter only has zotac and pny (reference) but bhphoto has a wider variety but so far from where I live. Newegg is out of the question since return is not allowed and amazon is my go to webstore but I'd lose the free game. Good or bad the games still has some value.

All custom cards I had ran a little cooler but I also changed my case so it has different fans and now an AIO for my CPU.

The Xtreme gigabyte 1080ti ran hot though before I sent it back. Just after a few minutes of benching the back plate would burn my hands.

Newegg will only replace the item so long as it's in stock. If you want to wait the evga ftw3 will be out next month. Also, last night I noticed both the evga sc and sc black edition were in stock.

Do those have LED's? I would want the LED's to match my case lighting. I do prefer the metallic look of the evga cards as it will match my setup. But I don't really want to wait until May.

At this point I may not have a choice so I'm probably better off either picking up anything in stock within the next week or just hope to snag a ftw3 preorder if one comes in again.

I have Amazon prime so I should probably order from there but I like using PayPal to pay it off easier.

@sze5003 I don't know to be honest I can tolerate the noise to some extent since I use headphones but the call for an upgrade is really strong since I got the tv. 4k looks so crisp but then when I launch a game and see how native 1440p looks I'm like one I can't play with these black borders and two the frame rate is crap. The low ms and better motion for games and benefits of gsync is good to have but 4k looks so crisp I'm willing to make a compromise. But I maybe a special case since I like visuals more because playing PS4 games like zero dawn with low fps and the like the game is so gorgeous at 4k.

Horizon does look great in 4k. I haven't thought about a 4k monitor yet. I have the PS4 pro for my 4k TV which I'll play occasionally. I'd say if you are not worried about the noise and don't plan on overclocking it too much an FE isn't bad at all in that case. Besides most of them can be readily purchased right about now.

I only prefer aftermarket for cooling and well looks too. The higher clocks don't seem to matter much seeing how the card I had wasn't even stable at stock.
