If that is true than I no longer have any interest in used $500 1080TI's!
I think clock speed is going to give us more performance, boosting to 2300ghz overclocking to 2450+, add in some IPC enhancements ,more cores and such should bring the gtx2080 to 45% faster than a 1080 easy.

Titan V is what 20% faster than a gtx1080ti? It was not really a gaming GPU.

Then the new TI's will be even better hopefully. For $100 more hopefully, very much worth it with what I've been throwing at my current card.

Your font is a little hard to read, can you increase the size?

If the 2080 is really faster than the Titan V for $649, they'll sell out of every one they can make.

I think it's rather convenient that the "leaks" showed up after NVidia revealed their their next generation Quadro parts, and anyone could make some "leaks" based on that info.

Not really- WhyCry (Videocardz) tweeted these same IDs, with correct cuda core count (2944 and 4352) two weeks before Sigraph. And AdoreTV released a video about the 2944CC card, with some pieces of slides (probably from a different leaker) on 10th of August.

Well not really , computer case is empty with a 750 watt psu in it.

Waiting for the new 8 core i9 and a next gen GPU to release......but after over 20 years of pc gaming ,I'm seriously considering a xbox one X and an Xim apex keyboard mouse attachment.

Computer gaming is not as special as it once was. No great pc only games like Half-Life and such.
But hardware still excites me.

If you are gonna get a console of course choose what games you will like more. I own all consoles except I gave the xbox to my younger brother. Since most Xbox games you can play on PC I went with the PS4 pro for their exclusives. But damn it sometimes I prefer to play some games on console rather than PC, don't ask me why, so it's always a tough decision because I know for a fact the PC will run it no problem but the comfort of just playing on a console sometimes wins.

Oh and some Xbox games you get the console version for free with play anywhere titles.

I know the TI varient usually gets released a while after the new gen is released, but maybe they'll release it at the same time. That would be noice!

If you are right I'm going to hate trying to fight to get one like last time. But I always go for AIB models. Took me like 2 months to finally get one last time.

The $649 price tag, if true, probably points to Nvidia getting pretty darn good yields. In truth, though, they should be getting good yields; they've been making an 800mm^2 chip on 12nm for a year now, so a 400mm^2 should do well at this point. I hope there is not an FE edition higher priced tier.

I think the rumor is that AIB partners will advertise there model cards while FE cards are at retail and be on shelves shortly after.

Edit: I'm starting to think there is a faster card than the RTX 2080 coming sooner than expected.
Mabe a RTX 2080+ or Mabe even a cut down 2080ti until they refresh on 7nm next year to spoil the AMD Navi release.

Are you hoping it doesn't?
How do you come to this opinion?
I’d love a Ti to release immediately, as that’s the card I want.
That has NEVER happened before as it would cut right into nV’s profits.
Remember, nV has a very calculated release schedule based on maximizing profits and buyer behavior/ psychology. Why on earth would they change that?
Not an opinion.

Like I said, Mabe for even more profit, imagine releasing the 2070, 2080 and 2080ti now, and sell every card they can make and then a complete refresh to compete with Navi next year. Now that to me seems more like Nvidia......
Your thoughts.....?

If they release it now it will sell for a lot more that $649.
7nm is coming next year & might allow a new generation 30xx.
Nvidia won't allow AMD alone on 7nm for a whole year if they stick to a 2 year cycle on 12nm.

This 14-16 nm > 7 nm transition will screw up recent traditions. Don't be a slave to the past.

It's interesting that all the leaks thus far are of cards with pretty beefy cooling. From what we have seen so far, it would seem to indicate a power hungry and hot running architecture.

No, just high clocks. Architecture is going to be at least as efficient as Pascal clock for clock and on a refined process with a significant clock boost.

Correct,
the numbers im calculating are gtx1080 180 watts, RTX 2080 50% faster at 200 watts.
So yes a fairly efficient card for performance per watt. More efficient than Pascal.

I believe earlier in this thread I was stating a 40% better performance per watt and people thought I was crazy.
Well I was close, it seems.
We shall we next week.
