Tom Pedersen does regular visits to PCPer to demonstrate technology, based on NV's twitter, it is not an official NV event. Therefore I expect Mr. Pederson to simply demonstrate (presumably) G-sync. That said, if he wants to do a solo press release of NV price cuts I certainly won't mind! Bring on the pricecuts! But there's a 99.9% chance that won't happen. It's just one man demo'ing stuff for PCPer.

I've said it before but the recent interplay between AMD-NV has been pretty awesome. NV with the holiday gaming bundle and 780ti, and AMD having new stuff around the corner. Say what you will but the 290X definitely got NV's attention - I can't see how fans of either side can complain. NV fans have a great bundle and a new SKU thanks to the 290X, and AMD fans have new goods coming soon. Win-win for everyone IMHO. Why and how can anyone, from either camp, complain about that? It truly is mind boggling to me. NV fans win, so do AMD fans.

The 780 Ti will be a Titan with 3 GB and DP-capabilities reduced. Clocks will be higher though, but not much higher I would think.

To work this strategy require a product that is close
to the competition in all benches from the start , they
ll have trouble branding their alleged 780ti as the best
performing card when we saw that the regular 780 get
stomped by 35% in 4K benches by the stock 290x and
it s not a full GK110 die that will turn the tables.

It was only stomped when the added in all the eye-candy and neither was playable anyway, so the 4k brag is out the door.
I have been quietly waiting for the Ti to be released, full GK110, without DP, and perhaps 770 speed 7ghz RAM...it will be seriously quick.

Does NV have some sort of deal with PCPer that they always go there? Kinda like how AMD does with Anandtech?

I though PCPer is nvidia branded website. They streamed nvidia's event, they worked on frame time wariance and FCAT, they showcase nvidia's new tech. It looks like official nvidia tech site.

Uh, no. Guess who PCPer's biggest advertiser is? AMD. PCPer was also a completely AMD oriented website in the past 3 iterations. I think it was named K6.com years ago or something like that.

You're incorrect, no need for the conspiracy theories.

Quite the contrary , they were even quite fair to Nvidia
by removing features like TressFx , as for playability the worst
was Tombraider wich was still largely above 30 fps.

Also the 290x has 5GHz Ram , what would happen if they
increase it just to 6 without even increasing their GPU frequency.?..

(5196 SP GFLOPS)/(2880 CCs)/2 = 902 MHz.

Thanks for the hint , so at 5600 SP GFLOPS the 290X
is 8% more powerfull than the full GK110 , both being
at their speced frequencies , still unknown for AMD though.

Yeah I suspect there has to be some deal going on. Why would NVIDIA support this site so much otherwise? Having a slant towards one manufacturer just kills the credibility of any website IMO. Same with Anandtech and their AMD deal.

Its a new MC and wider, which is why they couldnt go faster memory just yet..

As for the 4k, the slide I saw showed neck and neck with no candy at payable rates, soon as high setting were used, both cards bombed, though the 290x less so. No one is going to use just 1 card for 4K, its a moot point.

I'm not sure, but you realize dropping DP won't help performance any?

What deal do AMD and Anandtech have?

Its all over the front page. AMD has bought a section of the Anandtech website where it contains AMD product reviews and AMD direct marketing material such as its videos, twitter feed and other bits and pieces. In essence it appears Anandtech has a very serious pro AMD advertising stance right now,

Pcper's relationship with NVidia is quite simple - they worked on FCAT together as NVidia provided the initial implementation and pcper fixed parts of it and modified/made their own analysis. They thus now have established with NVidia that they know what they are doing around frames and analysing them and thus have a good relationship on this topic. Pcper presumably went and asked an NVidia rep about getting some more details for Monday. They weren't the only ones with video cameras there, they just so happened to be the only live stream but I doubt it was anything exclusive.

Like others have said pcper.com before it used to be an AMD fan site, which Ryan used to run. Nowadays most of the advertising is typically Asus (which they had prime deal with for their podcasts before) and some others like Corsair and EVGA. I haven't yet seen anything in pcper.com's reviews to show concern of imbalance one way or the other, I have however seen quite a lot of imbalance in Anandtech's reviews in regards to Graphics cards. They held on FCAT for a very long time, they still publish single FPS and minimal FPS numbers and by and large they just seem to have falled behind the state of the industry.

Neck and neck.??..

If more than one card is needed the 290X scaling is 93.5%
for two cards and still 86% for 3 according to AMD s slides
wich are right for dual GPU according to the first leaks.

I guess we all see what we want to. I don't see PCper as being at all unbiased. Unfortunately I don't usually read AT's reviews. I just don't like them. I do appreciate some of the technical details that AT delve into when new tech is released.

Kind of reminds me of the black knight in Monty Python, "It's just a flesh wound."

Did you miss the AMD section on the main site?

PC hardware website viewership has been declining. Lesser readers spread across too many websites. Sites have been embracing the darker side by whoring out parts of their site to companies who will pay for their brand / product awareness. As much as I detest it, AnandTech hasn't been immune. I simply ignore anything resembling paid content.

This still might not happen tho if you remember the HD7970 undercut the GTX 680 by quite a bit and NVidia still didn't budge. But I do agree it would be nice.

That was because the 680 had a bazillion reviews out saying it was better than the 7970, so it had all sorts of good press going for it and rode that wave for a long time. When a bazillion reviews hit saying the R290x is better than the gtx780 and is cheaper, Nvidia will have to respond in a manner to counter that positive press.
