Pretty easy to cripple a 7970/780 at 1080p with IQ settings.

Video cards come and go, monitors don't double in performance every two years.

AO, Crysis 3, other decent graphics titles, next gen titles.

High end isn't all that and a bag of chips, some people seem to think that every generation before "high end" gets beat by mainstream.

Point remains, there are a lot of high end and mGPU users at 1080p making it a relevant resolution even for the best cards.

It is simple math. It can be true or false and nothing in-between.
LOL @ 1080p. Highend card powering mainstream resolution.

120hz/144hz gaming and 3D Vision at 1080p is a decent use for high end GPU(s).

And 5760x1080p seems to be much less of a handicap with Nvidia cards than 1600p. I'm not sure why that is.

It's not that it's a lot of money. It's the fact that it is such a stupid waste of money. Then again people buy gold grills so maybe I expect too much of people.
how is stupid waste if you have the money and its something that will help provide hundreds of hours of enjoyment? I cant justify it but I can easily see how others can. I used to spend thousands of dollars on bicycling every year.

You can't apply your life situation to everyone else. I am sure you have a habit or hobby that someone in the world would consider a waste of resources.

Bicycling increases your health mental and physical. You also have something tangible. A bicycle can last 20 years and then you could pass it off to someone else.
Now if you buy $5000 bikes when a $1500 bike could get you 95% of the performance then I agree its a waste. The $650 cards are giving small performance increases at 100 to 200 percent more price. So yes that qualifies as a stupid waste of money.

Rather posting judgmental non-sense on the forums, wasting time, you could go earn money to get ahead of life.

It is an incredible waste of time.

I hope all you eat is Instant-Ramen, tap water, and a vitamin supplement. Calories are calories, so if you ever have a $10 meal at a restaurant instead of a $.50 cup of noodles, you are paying a 20X markup to get the same result: not being hungry anymore. What a waste!

Bad analogy. Sorry I'll pay a premium and do for my food. I don't eat fast food and only eat quality meats from lean sources. And yes it ends up being significantly less costs in the long run as I am healthy as a horse.

Wow, this sounds like a troll bait post. People buy what people buy. Let's just leave it at that. No need to be judgmental.

Getting paid right now as I have been for the rest of my posts. Yeah it's like that.

You can still spend your time at work wisely and make more money. The time on the internet could be spent researching investments or you could study to further your education and job growth. What a waste of time.

I'll exit as I see this is derailing the thread. Just think next time before you buy that $700 card.. is it worth $500 more dollars to run a little more AA?

Go back and read his posts and it should be rather clear.

lol a bicycle being used enough to actually get health benefits will not last more than a few years. even then many parts will have to be changed. and there is a huge risk dealing with cars plus the potential for erectile dysfunction so its not all roses.

again if someone gets significant use out of their video card and they had the disposable income then why are you so upset?

Value is subjective, that's all there is to it. Apparently there's a lot of gamers willing to folk out massive $$ for a few % extra performance or e-peen.

As for the 780 Ti, why not? They have all these GK110 dies now that their HPC demands are met. They couldn't do it early because they signed big contracts to deliver GK110 for huge $$.

this year I have had lots of relatives and even a couple co workers die. I also work a bit in nursing homes so I see people everyday who have hardly time left on this earth and have lots of health issues where they cant do even basic every day activities on their own. I say do what you want as long as you have the money for it and you are not hurting anyone as your time here will up before you know it.
